To Pimp or to Restore My wheels

Postby RedNeck » Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:34 pm

Guys,

I need some repairs or maybe replacement rims for a B4 MY03 17's. I love the look of the originals, although they have a fair amount of wheel scuff, especially the passenger side wheels

Some websites like the below suggest they can be restored, to original, I found a great site last night, but now cant relocate it

Has anyone gone through this process, are they strong after the process, costly? or is it just worth fitting some new rims to the MY03 B4... Any style or suggestions, nothing too fancy or very blingy!

Also I remember years ago looking at rims for a WRX, there was a site that you could upload a pic of your vehicle , and retro fit rims to your pic to see what they looked like.... Any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated!

It'll be cheaper to restore it back to normal yourself with some bondo, sandpaper, and silver spray paint.. Not exactly sure the process and materials, haven't done it myself. Maybe someone who's done it could put in some input... lol or google/youtube it.

Sounds like the option would chip easy!, I often drive "creep, 10-20kph" on a dirt road, how stong is it?
Do some of these mobs wield alloy? ..

Bondo should be fine.. It won't fall off if you do it properly. With a bit of gutter rash like yours welding is useless, you would only weld it if it was severely buckled.

Severely buckled eg.

Wow, mine don't look that bad... Any suggestions of repairers... I would rather somebody repair them, Im not much of a artist. I would much rather somebody do an AA++ 1st time.
Thanks again Gen!
