Well, my news is all good.

I connected the HUD Speedometer to the green plug entering the speedo. In my documentation (Subaru Legacy 2009MY) Wiring connections and Colours are identical in my Liberty Heratage MY09, so I imagine that the two are the same in content.

I attach the Speedo Wiring Diagram as WI-177.
I connected the speedo sense to pin 19 of plug i10 - shown on diagram as A19.
I provided power from the Speedo Source pin 3 of plug i10 - shown on diagram as A3. I initally used pin A1, but found that to be live all the time. A3 is switched by the ignition key.

I provided ground return from the Speedo Source pin 12 of plug i10 - shown on Wiring Diagram WI-178 as A12.

I also attach the directions to remove the Instrument Cluster as IDI-22.

Because too much information is often better than too little, I attach the document showing colour coding of the wiring as WI-6.

I have yet to calibrate the HUD to my GPS, but as many of you seem to consider the connection points of greater import, I hope these are of value to you.

Just an update on my progress with this. I finally got around to installing the JayCar Speedo Corrector and can confirm that it works and functions 100%.

If you're looking to increase the accuracy of your speedo, this method does work, although it is a little fiddly as you are required to put together the circuitry, but the skill level is more than within the realm of most people here.

To summarize:

1. Build JayCar Speedo Corrector (or buy another similar unit)
2. Remove dash cluster (one bolt on the top which is visible, then two screws underneath which are visible once the large plastic panel near where your knees would be is removed -easiest to see with a small torch)
3. Unclip two green plugs from back of cluster
4. Use the i10 plug for splicing and dicing (it’s the larger of the two plugs)
5. Pin A3 for power
6. Pin A12 for ground
7. Intercept pin A19 for speedo wire. Simply cut the wire, then feed the input from ecu into JayCar unit and connect the other wire (now the output) into the other side of the Jaycar unit marked ‘output’….simple stuff.
8. Follow the Jaycar directions for tuning – really easy. I connected Link 2 to get the speedo signal calibrated (you will notice the LED flash and the speedo won’t work – this is normal) and then connected Link 4 to engage the speedo.
9. Calibrate your desired increase or decrease in speed as per instructions.
10. Mount the unit under the lower kick panelling – I removed the lowest panel (near your feet) and cable tied it up out of the way.
11. Relax and enjoy beer.

My speedo is now exactly how I want it, and not out by an outrageous amount. All in all a really easy install, just requires some patience and beer.

Your after the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) wire, yeah?

If so, it should be the Pink/Green-Stripe Wire on the harness behind your speedo. Not sure which pin it is, but its Pink with green stripe. I had to find and tap into mine for my factory sat nav install on my STi.

EDIT: Ah, I see this has been solved.

No probs! The pin out seem to be the same, however wire colour is different. Speedo signal (A19/plugi10) was brown with grey stripe from memory.

Still working fine. Some minor tweaking today (so easy to do now!) and it's within 2%. I chose this to be slightly positioned on the safer side. Interesting to note - anything over around 13% variance results in an error display code reading Err SPD on the dash. Under this 13% and it's doesn't pop a code.
