hi . just some advice please will a 2007 sti with brembo brakes and slotted disc fit on a standard liberty 2005 if so do i need rear adapters if so when are they available how much to sydney.also do i need the sti disc backing plates and what about handbrake.do i need to know any thing else? thanks for your help.cheers john

I've installed the adapter two weeks ago and it really solve my problem that I was having with KNS adapter.
KNS adapter was fitting the calipers almost 1.5 mm to the outside with my dba rear rotors adapters.
here is what happened to the rear brake pads:











The quality of crusin adapter is so amazing and it is fordable compared to KNS adapter.
KNS brakes already have a new version of the adapter 1.1 and I tried to get a set with reasonable discount (no replacement as I tried to ask) but with no luck.
The first time that I've contacted them about the problem told me that it is the brake pads problem and it is happened before so I got a new set.
Later, I've found that I've got the same problem and it wasn't the brake pads problem and that was butting a lot of stress on the front brakes and suspension with hard braking.
I've lost a lot of money replacing my AVO bushings three times for the front arms.
Now, I'm really happy with my grippy dippy brembo braking performance and big thanks to you crusin.

A little bit of lip left on the pads is completely normal, even with stock factory brake assemblies from any car maker. It will not affect your ability to brake even in heavy situations such as track work. Not all pads are identical sizes to the other.

I've compared the two adapters and for sure there is a difference. And I already got two sets with the same problem.
Braking was not good at all. I had to resurface the rear rotors to get it straight again. Look at the pads carefully and you'll know what I mean. The pads were gripping from the outer edge of the rotors only and If you are driving with high speed you can get a firmer brakes while if you driving normally on traffic inside the city, it is a different story.

When I got the adapters with the rest of parts for conversion, I ordered two sets for two cars. The second one is for my friend and his car is okay without any problem at all.
I already used the third set right now and all of them were Hawk (HPS then HP+ and finaly HPS)

The piston in the caliper presses the entire pad down evenly - it cannot press one side of the pad down harder than the other. A 1.5mm lip is not going to affect the braking performance of calipers who's only job is to balance the car under heavy brakes using EBD and help to reduce nose dive.

Beyond that, the rear brakes do bugger-all in being able to stop the car - the fronts are doing all that work.

As for uneven wear of the pads in general, the inside pads will always wear faster than the outside pads.

Yes, I can see that there is a lip of unused pad that has slowly chipped off. This will not affect your ability to brake and is a common problem with third-party pads even with non-Brembo calipers. I used to use RB74's with my old WRX all the time and they always ended up with about 1mm lip of unused pad on them simply because RaceBrakes' pads were not 100% the same size as stock pads.

In your case, you have adapters that held the calipers out just a fraction too far from the rotor. All I'm saying is that this is not going to affect your braking ability. The simple fact is that the rest of your pads are showing sweep marks from having full contact with the rotor and 1.5mm of pad not making contact with the rotor is not going to appreciably increase the braking force of the rear calipers.

Anyway, we're going around in circles. I can appreciate that you feel the rears are now doing a better job. All I was adding was that the 1.5mm lip of unused and chipped pad wasn't an issue when it comes to your brakes actually doing that job.

So simply, if you are doing a periodic check inspection, there is test for the braking force of each side.
My car won't give a good braking force to the rear unless I hit it hard.
