VIC - Cruise and Photoshoot - August

And will tbSTi owners get the chance to lord it over GT owners?

CAR: 07 tbSTI sedan in Intimidating Midnight Black with fire-breathing exhaust (actually I always keep to the speed limit so will probably be the slowest )
[Jokes aside, any P-plater with a Liberty should be proud - regardless of Gen or mods. They're a great car and I would have loved one when I got my licence - instead had a 1.6L Corolla, followed by a 79 BMW bomb]
ATTENDING: Probably photoshoot; maybe cruise. Depends on start times.

I'm only an average photographer, but I have a decent DSLR and have some basic Lightroom skills.

Am I correct in thinking the photoshoot and lunch is either 27/7 or 10/8?
Just a thought, would it make more sense to combine the lunch & photoshoot, followed by a cruise, on the same day?

This was my original idea however a few guys said that it would be too long of a day, and they wouldnt want to stay for the whole day, but also not miss out on the cruise.

Once you add in the photos, lunch, and then about 5 hours for the cruise, you're in the evening already

I guess it depends on what time meeting up.... or maybe a shorter cruise?
eg. Meet 11am, clean cars 11-12, photos 12- 1, lunch 1-2, cruise 2-4pm?

i would probably say it all comes down to how many cars & people attend this meet.... the more cars the longer the photoshoot... the more people the longer the lunch... as same goes with car wash....

just a suggestion to try fit all in the one day....

organize a route to cruise early in the morning to a car wash destination about an hr or so away from melb(might be hard to find but not impossible) then a park near by for bbq or town for lunch.... do photoshoot after lunch around the area....then maybe a 2hr cruise home...

Hard to go past Sugarloaf Reservoir (south off Eltham Road C726) as a good spot for a photo shoot. Plenty of car parking on the south side of the dam wall and good light from 10am to 2pm this time of year. Good spot for a sausage sizzle if anyone can drag the bbq out. Bit a bread, snags, onions, grated cheese, sauce and would make for a great meet and peek (under the bonnets Cruisn and Bosco!!!) Alternative eating at Yarra Glen/Healsville or make it an interesting day and plan a drive route to or from here. Myself, for a pre-photo shoot cruise, I like the Warrandyte to Kinglake, across to Toolangi and down the Healsville, then finish up here by mid/late morning. I would start early from the nearest Maccas (morning coffee), say 8am on the road.

Can attend 24th Aug photo shoot, but already have plans for 31st Aug, so no cruise for me on that weekend. Hence my suggested combination pre-shoot cruise on the 24 Aug.
