8inch sub and amp in one

Hey guys,

Im looking for a replacement sub as my OEM mcintosh sub has blown on my my07 gtb. Ive looked into some of the threads on here and its been suggested just replacing the old stock sub and replacing with a new sub (say the polk) and running from the standard amp is a waste of money.. As i dont want to change the amp, im looking at this sub and amp one from elite http://www.elite-electronics.com.au/In- ... cG6_Pkwfwo.

Im thinking of using a line converter from the sub output wires from the original amp and run a 12V to the battery. What do you guys think? Judging from the picture i might have to make the parcel tray hole a bit bigger for it to fit, but do you guys think is a viable option over replacing the sub and amp?
