k, so i just hooked up a set of rims thanx to this wonderful forum....
was just wondering peoples thoughts on tyre brands?
what is the "best for money" tyre?

I'm still convinced the Hankook Z212 is the best value for money performance tyre. In 18", it's $250 a corner; $210 for 17s.

As much as I love low profile tires, try to go with 225/40-18 minimum. Otherwise if you still want 35-series try going 235/35-18.

Have just been shopping for my first set of replacements for the Spec B. Range and options were interesting:

225/40r18 Diamondback - $180 a corner
215/45r18 Federal FD2's - $240 a corner
214/45r18 Yokohama v103 - $353 a corner
225/45r18 Yokohama S Drive - $324 a corner
225/45r18 Falken F452 - $295 a corner
215/45r18 Kumho KU31 - $330 a corner
215/45r18 Bridgestone RE050A - $485 a corner

Has anyone had any experience with any of these? Any ideas?? I like the look of the Falkens - does anyone know if they rub in the larger size?

and how often should i rotate them???

There are tire fanatics out there that can give more detailed explainations. But in general, it all depends on your driving style and your tires' compound, size, etc. Tires last from 20k - 50k. But the best way is to simply visually inspect the tread to see how much of it is left.

Most modern tires have wear indicators in the tread that tell you it's worn and requires replacement.

Check your owner's manual. For general driving, tires will get rotated every 12,500 km (done during service).

Again, if your alignment is bad or your car is lowered and your camber is severe, you may think about rotating them at shorter intervals.
