Start Stop Sequence

Postby Flat4GT » Mon Jun 17, 2013 9:52 pm

Hi all, I tried a search for this topic so my apologies if it has already been discussed.
I have a MY2010 LGT with the Keyless entry and start.
Is there any way I can modify the shut down sequence?

With a key you can shut the engine off and go back to Acc without killing all the power to the radio, bluetooth phone etc.
With the Keyless system it just shuts everything off when you press the start/stop button.
The dealer told me the Auto's can shutdown while in drive and still have Acc power.
He said the only option in the 6 speed is to stall the engine, or let it idle until I'm ready to shut down.

I can go through Acc on the way to Start and would like to go through the same sequence on the shutdown process. (I always seem to be on the phone when I pull up somewhere)
It's driving me nuts!!!

Thanks

Maybe try with the door open, but I don't believe you can..
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

Leave it in drive when you stop and press the stop button.

Yes it is a 6 speed.

Does this issue seem to bother anyone else or am I alone in my frustration?

Isnt 'driving me nuts' when you have a steering wheel hanging out of your trousers?

There are many things wrong with Suby (and other cars)electrics set up these days - At the ACC key position, you have radio and wipers, but no windows or sunroof. Mazda have a chime if the key is in (but not turned), and you open the drivers door.....that drives me nuts!

I agree about the little things with all vehicles.
I travel a lot for work and hire more than 40 cars per year and I try as many makes / models as I can. Nothing beats coming home and getting into the Liberty. It really is a superior vehicle to most of it's contemporary similar class cars.
My gripe is only small and I was only looking to see if anyone had a solution.

Yeah I've tried searching for a solution to this as well... Nothing like pulling up to your favourite spot with a lady friend and having to go through the awkward process of getting the radio back on.

I asked this on the LGT forums too a while back and no ones got a fix :( just the way it is unfortunately!

You could get a HTC One, where bluetooth phone DOESN'T work (music does though), so even if the car is switched on and off it still plays on speakerphone... And the damn phone has loud ass speakers.

Just perform a simple Stall-Stop in 3rd gear = WIN

Thanks guys. Stalling is not the ideal solution but it is what it is.

Yeah this bothers me too. Pain in the arse when you're on the phone and want to kill the engine but not power completely. I haven't found a solution either. :?
