New owner of a Lib GT Sti

Postby TomTom » Mon Jun 10, 2013 5:29 pm

Hey All,

I posted awhile back but I'll post again as I've now got the car I've been hunting for, and plan to stay with for a long time. I'm really looking to gain a lot of knowledge, and I've already learnt a lot from reading around the forum. I picked up my car close to 2 weeks ago now, going from only driving Auto to Manual it's been a bit of a transition but I'm getting there slowly.

Name: Tom
Ride: Subaru Liberty GT Sti Tuned MY08
Location: Sydney, NSW
Mod: All Stock
Plans:
Cosmetics:
- Rim spray, Gun metal / Black (Should probably hunt for the STI colour code)
- Corazon mesh grille, any suggestions on sourcing these, In terms of best price? Also these don't come coloured?

- After a Mcintosh adapter for USB / iPhone so I can sort out my terrible battery life when playing music.
- Aftermarket Dash GPS ?

I don't have much planned yet, feel free to throw suggestions my way. I have a little bit of Mula to work with after this purchase, not looking todo a great deal of performance mods either.

Occupation: Developer
Year of birth: 1990
Interest: Big EDM head, movies, hanging with mates & all that generic stuff...
Previous Rides: Subaru Liberty Heritage MY00, Subaru Liberty GX - 1991

I'm also after a good reputable Subaru mechanic?

Will post more pictures once I give it a clean inside & out.

Hey Tom, nice neat STI there. How many KMs?

I'm sure soon it will all feel too slow and the performance bug will begin to bite :D

87K on the ODO, I was lucky enough to get through this long weekend double demerits without losing my licence so that bug could very well be on it's way.

Thanks, yeah it was on Car Sales for a while (a few months by my watch). I had a 100 point check done on it which found some minor issues around paint (although that could work out to be costly), everything else seems to be in good condition. None the less I'll probably put it in to get a once over to ensure its 100% or as close as possible. Only one owner as well.

So I've managed to put two tears in my front lip due to my terrible driveway. I'm thinking of attempting this repair : viewtopic.php?f=20&t=13399 anyone have tips or suggestions, are there any reinforced lips available (ultrex seems to be the same as the stock one) as I'm tired of barely nipping it and doing a bit of damage?

It has a nice drop, even my heritage manages to scrape it on some angles. I've been meaning todo some work on it, unfortunately I've left it too late.
