Hi All,

name is Jong and recently purchased a black 2004 3.0R-B with 95,000kms. driven it twice since ownership and loving it more and more, it's more of a weekend cruiser for me so really enjoy the comfort, convenience and the surprising fun factor. My previous car of 5 years was a 2003 Renault Clio 172 but it was time to get something 4 door!

I've found a lot of information and inspiration from this forum so thanks all - the pics section is awesome i really like the stock STI look so going to try get mine to look similar to that eventually but keep it tasteful. I've already ordered the Ultrex front lip!

While i'm here, any hints on getting my 1st to 2nd gear changes smoother? Or is it just practice... getting use to this whole drive by wire thingy.

Thanks all have a nice day,

Jong

Welcome mate, great choice in ride!

1st to 2nd is always the most awkward in these cars, I usually attribute it to the AWD more than anything else - you'll get better at it :P

How far have you driven it so far?
Mine can resist a little going into second when the gearbox is stone cold, but it's silky smooth as soon as it has warmed up after a few minutes.
Or do you mean you're having trouble matching engine speed to gearbox speed? As you mention, that's probably just getting used to the small DBW lag.

Thanks all,

Yep very happy with the purchase and going to take my time making small improvements here and there.... saving for a wedding early next year too!

it's been driven warm...i think it'll just take practice getting used to it

both times i've had the mrs in the car with me so i'll wait till i get to drive it alone this weekend and really get to know it =)
