baird, i notice a lot of noise in the trees. this always happened with my D90 also. maybe edit out all the noise in the black trees so its not obvious that half those dots in the sky are just light noise?
also the risk to go near the water paid off for the light house. there was no way i was getting that close to the water. those rocks were fuckn slippery!
gotta risk it for the biscuit i suppose...

Some colour noise probably did make its way into the final image, but I think most of what you are referring to is light the camera picked up through the branches and leaves. Kinda makes it look like noise since they are small specs all over the place.

its not. remember i tried to take my camera to Nikon to fix? i thought the same thing for ages hence why i didn't discover it under warranty. it fixed it self anyway...
i did a full clean on all the sensors and lenses. seemed to work. might be worth a shot. you can use your D600 for that now any way. it does magnificently in high ISO.

Unless the pixels were next to each other creating a larger than normal dot, it shouldn't be noticeable in a compressed photo like that. I can see some on the higher res version, but a lot are irregular shapes which indicate light being picked up by the sensor.

It's one frame at f/16. I'd love to get into stacking but I need to either purchase a macro rail or develop a steady hand.

Does anyone know anywhere in Sydney to get my Camera Serviced/cleaned with a couple lens' also? i can kinda clean them myself but i particularly need a lens cleaned and i get dirt all over the screen and i think its on the inside. in that case id rather let a professional do it.
