Stalling when reversing

MY07 3.0 spec B liberty automatic
It stalled out 2wice today, both times I was reversing
This is exactly what happened…..
1st time, pulled up to a park space, put it in reverse, left hand down to turn into park, half way into reversing to the park the engine stalled out smooth……NO choking or struggling, the dash lights immediately went out, I put it in park and it started immediately and acted like there was nothing wrong
2nd time, exactly the same scenario
Both times engine was well and truly warmed up

Anyone else had stalling issues with the automatics

I've got a manual but I've got the same issue. It feels like there's more drag or something or the accelerator pedal is dampened or less sensitive. I've learned to just gas it a bit more now to prevent stalling but I can see how it would be more of a problem with an auto. Surely it wouldn't be a diff problem would it?

Is that full lock/turning or straight? Could be diffs as mentioned.. Centre diff is a common one

Hey how did u go with this mine did this for the first time. Reversing on slight incline full lock

Don't know, it did it twice way back when I started this thread and never again, Perhaps in reverse at full lock it lowers the revs and or fuel mix, along with possibly a shitty batch of fuel this may have been the cause....... Funny though your lib looks exactly the same as my model

Lets just say I dont have the problem in my car, I need to tune it in person though as it is part of the BIU not the ECU.

It is reduced but not eliminated. Remember the OzFoz thread about the TC off getting a power boost? That was the way I solved it originally but got it developed further now

I don't think this can apply to pre face lift spec b's Rob, as we don't get VDC, hence no steering angle sensor.

Yeahs really strange this one. Has not happened again. Even when in the same situation.

Ill leave it and talk to the mechanic next time im there.

I have a 2005 Spec B H6.
I HATE the throttle feel on this thing. I can't help but get the feeling some geek at Subaru thinks they know what you "really" want when you move the accelerator.
I have very randomly had the car stall during slow movements, going up driveways etc.
The RPMs fall as you let the clutch out, it then seems to rev itself(too much) so you reduce throttle then it stalls.
Not all the time, but the car feels like it's trying to "help" you, but fails.

Anyone else had this? Can't wait to work with throttle settings on this thing.

yep, they are sh!t.

Here's a tip.
PM Matt (throttlehappy) ask him for his base tune to be loaded into your ECU and you'll see a 100% improvement in the car right away.

Yeah Robb I have been reading up on that. Currently trying to get a vag com cable to work with my car, having troubles, suspecting drivers. But once I get that sorted I most definately will.
It just makes you wonder what sort of testing factories do, because like you say, it's pretty shit.
