Removing (inside) plastic black door handle

Hard to explain what i mean without a pic.... so heres a pic



See door handle in red circle. Previous owner must have been edward scissor hands as there are so many scratches on these handles, so i want to remove them and respray them.

Hoping there's an easy twist and pull method or something but i have had a light pull/twist but had no luck.

I think it's a problem with all gen4's, the surface scratches so easily and turns to crap pretty quick.. I don't know of any way to remove them other than twist and pull.. They are really on there (feels like you're gonna break it)

I wrapped mine in vinyl as paint would probably get ruined quickly anyway

i just got a panel removing tool and popped it out from the top. you have to be a bit forceful with it just try not to break the clips on it.

Like CF wrap or somthing? or just black vinyl? Never used vinyl before...where would i get some of that from?

Ahhh ok, does to pop down then out or just straight out? Dont suppose you got any pics of these clips (to get an idea of how it pieces together)

nah i dont have any pics atm sorry the clips are on the ends so be careful. there pretty strong i found.

The easiest way to remove the cover is to pull down and twist to the left. While you're doing that use a trim removal tool and pry at the top (pulling it down should slightly reveal the little clips that hold it on). Takes a bit of force but as long as you pull it down far enough the clips shouldn't break.

Easiest way Ive found is trim removal tool in the top to free the top clip, and then twist (pretty sure towards the front of the car). The bottom two clips should just come free quite easily.
