My04 liberty cruise control!

Postby JoeDaleyN98 » Tue May 21, 2013 7:26 am

Hi all,

My cars cruise control is not working. I have checked fuses, but not only are they all perfect, but I actually couldn't see what fuse the cruise control would of been hooked up to?

Does anybody else have any idea what could be the issue here. Pease excuse me if there is already a thread on this previously, and feel free to link it up to me.

Did you push the button on the end of the stall to turn it on? Does the cruise light come on? I think the dude for cruise is in the engine bay fuse box

Had the same issue on a manual transmission. There are a couple sensors that check whether the car is in neutral, if the brake pedal or clutch pedal is being pushed.

On my car, the Neutral position sensor was not working. It is on the gearbox on the right hand side. google "neutral position switch subaru liberty" to see a picture.

It turns out that these switches wear out so they cant detect the gear posistion. I took mine off, took off the soft washer used for sealing, hammered it down a mm or two then put it back on. Tighten it up nicely and it will seal the gearbox properly as the washer is so soft.

Problem fixed.

Pretty sure my MY04 has a receipt for fixing the cruise control under either a recall or warranty, I can't remember.
The receipt listed the same symptoms
