Yes, but already got the kick in the pants when the sc first went on. This build will be about finishing off. But still, the excitement is there.

Ah. I get it now. But I don't see that Titanium is needed in a daily drive.

So, no progress today due to Barry busy finishing off another vehicle in another workshop. Best news is he will be working tomorrow on my car.

Some more of the pics with better detail during the install (taken by Ivan) when I was not there watching over their shoulders!

Image
This one shows the new low profile bolt used in the brake stopper.

Image
This one is the Kartboy Pitch Stop Mount to replace the original dog bone version.

Image
The new Pitch Stop mount installed.

Image
This shows the padding that was used to support the WTA Cooler in case it makes contact with the old plenum chamber mount. Supporting brackets are not required due to the rigid connection with the throttle body and support from the charge pipe.

Image
This shot shows a little more clearly where the Transmission Oil Cooler was mounted.

Stay tuned for some more shots of any progress made tomorrow.

Yes, all the updates are underway. Today the stock exhaust came off as did the Auto Transmission mount. New stiffer bushing will go in and then the new exhaust will go on after some custom fabrication. The new custom air intake is being sorted and a bracket was made today for the WTA reservoir. Should be ready mid week if all goes well.

Really cool stuff Mark and what size exhaust are you going for? And it looks like they guys doing the install are doing a top job :) Can't wait to see and hear your car on the road again!

Thanks Chris,

The exhaust is a 3-inch cat back from xForce, off the shelf it is for a GT, but they will be customising the area of the 3rd cat to mate with the xForce system and re-flange the Y pipe into the mufflers so I can keep my HiTech muffs.

Hope to have the car back mid next week.

Some more detail shots that I took yesterday:

Image
The exhaust off for cutting and flanging. The muck on the LHS cat was from the CV joint when I popped a boot on a Mt Baw Baw cruise some years ago.

Image
This one shows the install site of the WTA Cooler electric pump. The plastic tie to another hose behind it is not my idea of a good install, so this is temporary. Will look at a custom hose clamp with some isolation rubber to make it a little more permanent.

Image
This shot is taken from the front bottom of the RHS wheel well looking straight up into the engine bay. You can clearly see now the yellow cable that holds the front Air Bag Sensor loom (thanks to Gino for the tip). Will be relocated and the metal area cut to facilitate the custom air intake hose and new filter mount.

Image
Some side shots of the Transmission Oil Cooler showing the new angular mount and the new WTA Radiators behind.

Image
Another Transmission Oil Cooler side shot.

Image
This shot was taken from the rear RHS, showing where the rear muffler pipes are touching the rear diffuser. The melt has left a permanent scar and I am considering replacing the rear diffuser with a Ultrex Fibreglass version (if I like it when I see it fitted). Hope the new AT mount and Engine dog bone mount will reduce the flex in the engine/transmission/exhaust sufficiently to prevent future damage. Will be monitoring closely.

Image
Some of the evidence of the rear diffuser melt on the rear muffler pipes.

Image
The LHS rear diffuser also has some evidence of the exhaust touching and melting, though not as severe as the RHS.

Image
The LHS exhaust pipe showing a little less evidence than the RHS.

Will also look at hangars for perishing/replacing, but so far they look pretty good.

Sorry to high-jack, but I have a Q about that front mounted Oil cooler.
When I run my car hard, the A/T box get's quite hot, would this cooler stop this from happening? Or at least help the situation a bit? Or is it just for Towing? :alcoholic:

All additional cooling for the transmission will help. On a 3.0R, the stock radiator incorporates a small transmission oil cooling element, but it seems more designed to bring the transmission oil up to temperature for colder climates than to cool the oil in warmer climates. I am considering removing the oil run from the radiator all together and just run the additional cooler as the primary element.

With that element bypassed, I will then consider adding a Koyo Radiator for MT vehicles to provide a thicker core than the puney stock one. But that will come later if needed.
