My car is at 80k but my next two services are the "100,000km service" at around $900 and $950 according to Subaru. They said that because the car is 5 years old (July '08) that the timing belt gets changed regardless of km.

Either way, not looking forward to it. Will probably get in contact with Ross at Cromwell and see what he says closer to servicing time.

Turbos have a timing belt.

The 3.0 litre was developed with a timing chain as its thinner which made the engine shorter and easier to fit into an engine bay designed for a 4 cylinder.
