Thanks Ben!
Much easier to read now

Edit: actually Ben, youve inserted Poida's pre turbo upgrade graph. Theres another one under that on his build thread that is post turbo and header upgrade.

I'm a pirate!
So I overlaid vf52 over vf46... Here it is.

If I had a good copy of Peadya's sheet...

Great idea.. bummer it was the wrong graph

It should be a pretty good example of the differences between the turbos.

Edit: just remembered that poida is still running stock mufflers and im not. So add around 5-7kw to his peak power.

Fixed :)

FYI I saw little to no difference between stock and straight-through muffs on vf46 & 3" tbe.
Definitely sounds like +10kw but :P

Based on stock injectors, 3" tbe + inlet silicone as the common denominators:

Optional (?) wildcards:
+$500 straight through muffs
+$1000 for EL coated headers fitted
+$700 tmic upgrade...

So I'd have to conclude:
+$800-$1500 for the VF52 upgrade = +20kw or +10%

But IMHO Poida's Lib is poised to make more even power with upgrade injectors and pump.

Yeah I knew it wasnt much difference with the muffs, but from all reports its around 5kw... I think that originally came from MSR.

Great to see the 2 graphs overlaid... now to top it off we need a graph of a car running the blouch turbo

I want to dig up Jacksons revised upgrade path for his observations.

I have headers too and still get 18.5 psi at 3140 rpm.

Cheers!
From Jacksons thread:

Can I ask, how much extra dough did you spend to get from 177kw to 216kw outputs?

jacks-GTB wrote:I did top mount....which is not needed if you run a water sprayer :)
Turbo - $800
Headers - $600+coating
3 port boost solenoid - $150
Silicone inlet $250

jacks-GTB wrote:& fuel pump - $170

And MSR tune as well...

I'm planning that minus turbo and 3 port...

Crucial info also from Jacksons thread: got overlay? :P

kiahatsiu wrote:Useless information; the 1.5 xt-r equates to a 3071r. It has a 71mm comp wheel and a 56.5mm exhaust wheel, which is exactly the size of the 3071. The 2.5 has a same comp wheel and a bigger exhaust wheel, I think it is a 60mm in house blouch design, or is similar to that used in the 3076r.
Despite owning a Blouch turbo I used to doubt what they could do. Though after seeing my in the dyno still with plenty left in in, and a few other plots (from Australia/the real world) with 8cm rear housing with the 56.5mm wheel (20g-xtr and dom1.5) holding 24psi neatly to 7500rpm I am starting to think there is something to them.

Edit: wow, the GTX3071 runs a 71.4mm comp wheel and a 60mm exhaust. That is interesting.
Dopple edit: Addressing GB's spool question. I found a thread on Nasoic the other day that someone had overlaid various posters dyno graphs on one graph. The handy thing was that they were all unopened EJ25s, stock ports and cams. Obviously the numbers on the graphs were a little off as they were from different dynos, but it gave a great indication of how they performed spool wise.
Image
One would expect similar spool performance between the dom3.5 and the gtx3076, though the 3076 on that graph will most likely come on a bit sooner as it is a twist mount.

Feel free to move this out of your build thread too Jacks.

Haha, well that throws that theory out the window
Bruce has pretty much every bolt on mod in his engine bay, so that will be a good comparison too.

It will be up tonight.
peadya100: any chance you can dig up a better copy of your MSR dyno sheet?

Anyway its all about one's intent and/or philosophy.

support the stock turbo, injectors and intercooler wherever possible... (eg peadya100, BBB etc.)

or

support and upgrade with extra headroom for much higher power levels in the future (eg Bruce, Poida etc.)
