Single Flywheel vs Dual Mass

Hey guys.
So today I got the conversion done on my Lib. Thought I'd do quick thread about the differences I've noticed already.

For starters the horrible squealing/squeaking noise has gone ! Such a relief, it was so annoying, like a mega belt squeal kinda noise.
Also I've noticed it's a much smoother drive now.. With gear changes, hill starts etc
The new clutch (genuine subi parts) put in with the conversion is a bit firmer too, that with the SMF makes driving much easier.

Definitely reccomend getting it done if you having issues with the clutch/flywheel.
Cost me $1550 and took them like 5hrs to fit.

I did the same thing with my previous liberty.. no problems at all going to the single mass flywheel.. although it did make the car a touch noisier... barely noticable though.

I got ripped off by subaru brookvale by the looks of things.. they charged me $2300

I went Subaru Evolution in Brendale (Brisbane). They used genuine Subaru parts aswell so I've got 12 months warranty.

I was charged $1990 because I had the exhaust fitted aswell.

They did use genuine parts on mine, but clearly they bent me over on the price!!

It was one of the main reasons i bought an auto this time... i thought "theres no way im going to pay $2300 to replace a clutch again" haha

Mine was $1400 through a mechanic who used genuine parts. My whole clutch assembly was replaced, forks, single mass, everything.
Plus it was towed in Thursday and I was able to pick it up Friday.

$1990 is a good price with the exhaust, was it a catback?

I noticed you said it felt firmer? Mine is ridiculously light.

Yea I'm pretty sure he mentioned doing the forks and everything.
Car was in shop for 5hrs. They dropped me at the cinemas then picked me up lol

Yep, its a catback xforce system.

My old clutch was wearing a fair bit, so maybe that's way this new one feels firmer.

I paid 1500 for clutch and flywheel. BUT they did the worst job ever.stole parts, didn't put things back on,and now only 12months on, it has gone. The only reason I went with lube mobile is because they were able to drop tee car off to me at work. Never again will I go the cheap option.

Sad thing was i did shop around.. some mechanics wanted to charge me 3k!!

I can't stand the squealing! but was also quoted in the 2k range, but thats when i was on the sunny coast, maybe here in perth I can find it cheaper and get it done with what you guys are saying!

I had a 200,000km service and the SMF replacement kit (Genuine) fitted all for $1860.00 at Boxer Service in Brendale.
