5 Gen Satellite navigation mod "handbrake mod"?

Hi all - apologies if this has been posted and answered but I just cannot find anything on this despite searching a fair bit.
Maybe not the right keywords longer than 3 letters!

This used to be the "handbrake mod", and I did perform this on my MY09 Forester to enable ALL the Sat Nav functions to be operated on the move.

However, with the electric handbrake in the 5 Gen I suspect it is not quite the same, however the Sat Nav unit is basically the same Kenwood OE Subaru unit as the MY09 Forester and current Liberty's have had fitted from the start.

So my question is, has anyone done the "handbrake mod' on a 5 Gen - is it still just a matter of earthing the purple/green wire (i think)?

Yes there is a hack. Garbo had made up some hacked cables to bypass the lock. I'm sure there is a thread on here about it, if you can't find it PM him.

Ah cool -Garbo has PM'd me so I'm on track to see how we fix this.
