Hawk Performance Ceramics - Group Buy

Postby Liberty » Sun Apr 28, 2013 1:03 pm

As my current pads are coming to the end of their lives I am keen on buying a complete set of Hawk Performance Ceramic brake pads from a place in the US via eBay (seller is called kingtekperf). The seller mentioned that postage was a flat rate, and if I could find another buyer, he would be able to fit two complete sets (eight sets of brake pads in total) per box. The reason why I am writing this topic is to ask whether anyone else is interested in taking advantage of this and is keen to break up the postage costs?

Postage is US$60, so will be approximately $28.97 per person if someone decides to get a complete set. If there are two people interested in getting one pair each, we could break up the postage accordingly.

Here are some details about the pads themselves: http://www.hawkperformance.com/performance/ceramic.php

The seller also stocks High Performance Street and HP Plus pads. Let me know if you're interested in them.

Let me know as soon as possible guys!

Do you mind if I ask why you're going with hawk as oppose to Dixcel

Dixcel are arguably the best brakes on the market for our cars, and with local support from garage88 its a no brainer for me

Better pricing too ;)

Give Michael a call at garage 88

I was recommended the Hawk Performance Ceramics. That's pretty much the only reason to be honest... I've never heard of Dixcel. Local support is good and I need them pretty soon actually. I will definitely look into them. What pads do you recommend? The M type?

How much better is the pricing if you remember?

Thanks for the tip Mike. Much appreciated man.

Best speak to Garage 88 direct regarding your application....type M's aren't entry level pads, so you might find something better suited to your needs.

Sweet, thanks for the interest.

I'm in contact with Garage 88 regarding their DIXCEL pads, so if I can get a better deal with them then I'm not gonna go ahead with the Hawk Performance Ceramics. I'll let you know how it all goes either way man, thanks for letting me know.

Great. Don't hint to the administrators here in adding the filter too!

Yeah for sure man. Might be able to get a discount off 'em if we get them together. ;)

Dixcel Type Ms when I bought mine mid last year were around $500 F&R from memory. They may be cheaper due to the strong Aussie dollar relative to the Yen but I'm not 100% sure.

There are more entry level pads

Al was referring to a set of four Dixcel type m's. and they're probably a bit cheaper than that.

Best to give Michael a call to discus. The hawk ceramics aren't cheap either.

There are so many different combos to suit your driving style and purpose its not funny. As with anything best to hear it from the source
