Had a play in the garage today with my spare set of fog surrounds and look what happened!

Image

My requirements for the DRL install are/were:

1. Legal position according to ADR76/00 (which calls up the ECE R87 regulation). Look them up if you don't know (Google is your friend!!!)

2. The install is only to impact the fog surrounds (cheap to replace should I decide I don't like them)

3. No permanent mods to the front bar or any other structure.

So, only did a trial "loose" fit of one side. Also played on photo shop and checked the regulations, then did some measurements. So tried to achieve some symmetry by getting in the lower mid area of the fog surround.

Measurements and cutting took about an hour with a fine tooth single ended hack saw and a very sharp Stanley knife. The material is a rubberised soft plastic, so reasonably easy to cut. Measured twice and cut once, but still each side is slightly different. Took to them with the Dremel afterward to try and even them up, but only made it worse. I figure I will cover the fog surround with the hex plastic mesh, so it will hide most of the imperfections.

So, feel free to comment and provide your opinions, but try not to bruise my feelings too much!

Looks pretty cool! Better having them at the bottom as opposed to in the centre as bates had his.

Tried all these with photoshop:

I settled on this last one so I could get some rigidity into the installation site as the lower edge is significantly stronger than the middle bits. Still would have preferred the site just between the lip and bar, but he, its gotta be legal when it will be so visible!
