Ive always ummed and agghhed about the honeycomb grill. I dont think id bother buying one brand new but if it came up for sale id go for it...

Alternatively I wrapped mine in matte wrap. I love it...im thinking about plastidip but im hesitant as I dont know how to use it....

I saw someone plastidip the other day.. its so easy! He didnt even mask everything off, he just peeled off the over spray. But its just going to look the same as your matt wrap so its probably not worth it.

I found this pic of a white STI wagon... i think the honeycomb grill looks sensational against the white.. not sure it would be a big enough contrast to be worth it on dark grey.

I personally like the grille the way it is. Im like you Adam, have been through the times where any upgrade was a good one. But frankly speaking, the stock post FL grille is something Subaru got right from the factory. I also like chrome bling as well so keeping that theme in areas is a good thing in my opinion.

If it were me, the current lip and grille combination is a winner. If you had to change anything for the sake of looks, I would lower the car a little if under carriage space in your garage is at a premium.
Cheers

Every time I look at the lib at a petrol station and see the shiny paint and shiny grille...I think it sets our cars apart from any other, subaru definitely got it right with the wings. Honeycomb looks cheaper as a grille imo.

The only other style I'd contemplate is the zero sports/corazon (or cougar as that's what the logo looks like Lol). If performance is the look you want, that's the way to go. Save the honeycomb for jdm markets!

Honeycomb grille suits Spec.B bars due to fog surrounds.

With you post fl spec b guys, I think both honey comb and oem grilles look good.

Spraying or wrapping the oem grille surrounds matte black, whilst leaving the silver wings is another winner.

All up to personal preference!
