Performance parts for Gen V

Postby realrift » Wed Apr 03, 2013 9:56 pm

Hi,

Has anyone upgraded their dump pipe in a Gen V GT auto?
Or TMIC?

Just looking at what options are available?

Would it be better to get a custom dump made up? (Any recommended places in Brisbane?)

Cheers,
Rift.

Hi,

Specifically looking for a dump pipe with a bellmouth splitter to separate wastegate and exhaust streams. The invidia, and x-force and AVO versions do not have a split bellmouth. I note the MRT dump pipe does have this splitter.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Cheers

HiTech Mufflers make the parts for MRT ;)

The VF54 does not really need a splitter, as the flange design is much better and not much room for a splitter without causing boost issues with the WG flap hitting the splitter

Hi,

Thanks for the tips Matt. I won't worry about the splitter then. Will just go for a big bellmouth design.

Also nice to know where the MRT one comes from

Im just about to pull the trigger on an AVO dump pipe. A couple of Gen 5 guys are awaiting delivery of a HKS DP, I might wait to see their results before I buy.

I have just been tossing up between the AVO and the X-force dumps. Didn't know HKS made one to suit the Gen V actually (linky link? ) :D

Talk to SYM. I think he's ordered it through Garage88.

thanks shaw, I work there and they have tuned my car awesomely. Are you going from personal experience or an experience someone had years ago when previous staff worked there?
