Got the Evo looked over yesterday..
Worst issues where it needing new pads at the front and a cuple drops of fluid on the rear diff.
I had it comp tested up to 100psi on all 4 cylinders.

Report is that it's a well maintained well serviced beast so I'm stoked.
Now for some more pics...

List of driver courses booked....

Basic driver training (emergency braking, wet weather handling etc)
Advanced driving level 1 (braking points, loss of traction, under/oversteer)
Advanced driving level 2 (track driving :D)

All done in your own car. :). I'm doing the basic one with the girl friend in her B4. But the two "advanced" ones she doesn't want to join in.

I still haven't driven the car on full boost. (27psi) The highest I've driven it so far is 23psi. It has 4 settings. 18psi (wastage pressure) 21psi, 23psi, 27psi. Scares the shit out of me at 23psi so no need to turn it up just yet. Might even have to put the harness on for that. (Jokes).

Nice little brake upgrade hopefully on the way from Owen too <3. AP mono block 6 pot 365mm fronts. 4pot 316mm rears.

At this stage I'll pick the car up on the weekend. (Deposit paid on Monday)
Drive it around for a week while the liberty sits in the shed getting everyone's parts taken off it.
Ship the liberty off to Subaru as a stock car. (TD04 being used as stock turbo)
Spend a week in the shed with the evo making love. (Detailing)

I'll get a full mod list of the evo up soon. Still finding a few extra bits n pieces here n there. Almost annoying that he has so many JDM MR EVO parts on it. Because it is a factory part but still an upgrade at the same time.

According to this thread you do need to see close to 160psi.

Are u doing a comp test or a leak down test?

Comp test u screw a pressure gauge in the spark pug hole and crank in over with the plugs out

Leak down u pressurize the cylinders and see if the pressure leaks out Past the pistons valves ect over time

I'm not sure sorry. I had Sean at SnJ comp test it. He said it was in good shape.

I'll ring in the morning and report back with more info.

Edited....

Just got off the phone with Sean (SnJ). It was comp tested up to 160 and wasn't leak down tester as they said it passed the comp test beautifully. It had a 3581 on it for 5,000k's. the current Gtpumps 73 HTA has been on for the last 15,000k's. motor has done 70,000k.

Re: T.Renshaw34 - HELLO EVO 9! - Now with mods list

Postby Boostaddict » Thu Apr 11, 2013 8:05 am

Holy fuck.... What a mod list!!

Its a ball tearer all right.

I also thought 100psi was low, but not knowing those engines i didnt want to comment. My little old ford laser tx3 turbo 4wd with a stock motor had 165psi. So maybe it is a little low!!!!

Maybe safe to budget for a bottom end.!!
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??
