A little more detail on where the relay is, and how you fed constant power to it, on which pin would be a huge help here, please. My car is on gtb, so chances are high that your mod will work. I would even be happy to get windows working on accessory setting of the key, and the sunroof....
Looking at wiring diags, relay is FB42, but physically ? Did you need to pull ignition ON supply off the socket , to prevent ign being live all the time ?
thanks

Wish I knew more about electronics. The only components I really understand and would be confident using are diodes, switches and simple relays. Had a look at these latching relays but it seems that's getting kind of complicated, finding trigger wires for locking and unlocking etc...

Any ideas on what would be powered only when the car is locked or unlocked? Was thinking something to do with the alarm wiring but the wiring diagrams for that aren't too clear.

Check out the12volt.com for a good reference for relays and how to use them in various applications. As for the trigger wires they are located at the Body Control Module which is located just below and in front of the steering column under dashboard. Alternatively you can tap into the central locking relay (I'm not sure where this is located as I did all my wire tapping at the BCM when I installed my alarm).

Thanks, it looks like I should be able to get it to work, just need the time to work out a proper plan then actually do it :P

I'm going to do a write up on the sunroof as that's pretty simple, the windows involves cutting wires which are very hard to find, I wouldn't feel comfortable giving people people directions on that... But happy to try and answer questions.
The relay is the second one up in the row next to the fuse panel in the cabin. I cut the wire and added plugs so it'll take 20 seconds to reverse the change, but you could just pull it and run a new constant power wire to the relay instead...

I know you have already done the hard yards, but my father had a alarm fitted to his pajero (a viper i believe) which had a function where it aloud the sunroof and windows to close if they where left down when the car was locked buy the keyless entry. We also found that by chance that this ment there was power to the windows for about a minute or 2 after the key was pulled out. i remember waithing in the car when he pressed the butten walking away from the car (force of habit). I then hit the window down and it worked. the car never had this feature before as it had the same problem your having.

would anyone havea a wiring diagram for the power windows ciruit? likefrom fusebox to relay to switches etc.

i have been looking at the wolstentech site and talking to them, they want the wiring diagram so they can either make one to suit or give some advice on how it needs to be wired

cheers

No wiring diagram but I've got the wire colour list for doors/windows and sunroof. Let me know if you want it.

I've got heaps of manuals on my computer. Can't be bothered finding them again so I'll just upload some of them on DropBox. They won't be there forever so save them if you want them.

Just started uploading, so give it some time :)

I've been studying these TDR's now for a while and i think their just the trick, all you have to do is find the correct trigger wires in the vehicle and your set, you'd need two though, one you would set for an turn off delay and have it wired that once it loses power from the ignition it would power the windows and sunroof for a per-determined time, so you would just bridge the output load terminal to the fuse box load side of the windows and sunroof. The other TDR would be set from a trigger wire from when you unlock the vehicle so it would then trigger a instant on with a per-determined turn off delay wired to the windows (and sunroof if needed ) so you can activate the windows once unlocked without the need for the key in the ignition. Does this sound like something people would be wanting.

I know i had these options as standard in my last car which was a Holden.

I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to find these wires with a probe and multi meter, might be a job for a sunday arvo for me.

is the sunroof on a separate relay to the windows? I was under the assumption (without having looked at it at all yet) that it was all the same circuit?

if they are separate, does anyone have an idea where the sunroof relay is located? as then I will try to wire up this TDR to both

No separate relay, it gets fed accessory power.
