Youve definitely got an eye for good photos. :D

Thanks mate!
There's a link in the same post to a drop box album with more photos if you didn't see it.

Polishing skills! I do it every few months, and the Maguiar's car wash soap goes alright too.
The cars always shiny when its clean!

As some of you may have read in a post of mine a while ago, my sunroof shat itself and the only thing i could do was replace the entire assemble.
I found a replacement sunroof at a wrecker over a month ago, and scored it dirt cheap for $320. (Other wreckers quoted me $1550+).

I was quoted $800 to get the new one installed, so i figured i'd just do it myself, and today was the day.
Such a bitch of a job, ended up taking about 4-5 hours with help from a mate just to lift the new one in.
I'll post more about it for anyone interested in the original post.

Saved $800, and now the sunroof works, woohooooooooo!
You can all feel free to call me the sunroof king.

Kudos to you for having a go mate. Just looking at that pick with the lining off makes me want to curl up in the fetal position.

The roof liner is the worst bit. so fiddly and so frustrating putting it back together!
Plus i snapped a screw somehow which is jammed in the rear pillar still. Need to cut it out.

That's something that would bother me. I know it's more expensive to pay a professional to fit it, but to some extent I feel better knowing someone knows what they are doing. Again, kudos to you for giving it a red hot crack.
Cheers

Im basically a sunroof/roof liner pro now
Agreed also, but i couldn't justify paying someone $800 and not having the car for two days when i bought the sunroof for $300 and could install it myself in half a day.
Glad i did it though, love a car thats fully functional. Everything is now perfect minus the lack of STI front lip haha

I can see the logic in that. Love a car that completely works the way it was designed to.

Props for doing it yourself.

If you had of paid a professional, they would of probably snapped more bits and wouldn't of told you.

So much more win doing it yourself.

QFT.

Recent events have led me to believe that even if I cock up, I am less angry at myself than I am at someone who I paid and cocked up.

Nice job!

Im with you on that one!

I ended up drilling into the screw with a tap, and it fell out in pieces, with the original tap being fine- so all good!

I need to roll my rear guards asap.
After taking on the sunroof, i reckon rolling the guards will be a piece of cake. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
