So, got my car back..

Firstly, these things should have a vf52 stock... sooo much better..

Unfortunately the dump didn't fit, fouled on the box. .

Oh.. and

Yeah man.. boat propeller spec... nice curved edges. .

Had about 3mm of side play and about 5mm of lateral..

So in short... its fucked..

Oil starvation I reckon... those fkn inline oil filters killed it I think..

Nah man.. its strange. .

I was given advice that it will "definitely fit" my car and I know it came off a My11 WRX STi auto.. which apparently has the same auto box and turbo location. . So it should fit..

Yet the STechnic guys were adamant that no 2 piece dump pipes fit an auto because the flange fouls on the box. .

Apparently they tried it and it didnt fit.. I say apparently because they were being a bit shady about a few things. . Like trying to tell me that my brake pads were at 50% when I literally just fitted them 4 days before the car went into the workshop. . I know they have a reputation for being good, but that sort of thing shits me..

I think they assumed I am clueless about cars. . I didnt tell them I've been building cars since 18..

Matt is adament they fit and said he has fitted 2 before.. so I dunno, got two very conflicting views. .

Ill try fitting it myself and see what the deal is..

Or just grind tye flanges down quite a lot and just weld them together for more clearance. .

If you've been building cars since your 18, why would you get a workshop to fit a turbo and dump pipe? Thats a pretty basic DIY mod for someone with some mechanical knowledge.

Hey, they were inline filters.. One in the turbo oil feed and one in the oil feed line on the other side of the block, near the AVCS gear.. cant say exactly because I didn't do the work...

They were just removed, not replaced... They are really tiny and look like they would be extremely useful at becoming clogged and blocking flow... beyond that I don't understand their purpose given the car already has an oil filter..

Few reasons.. time mostly.. I work full time about an hour from my house... I normally leave home at 730 and dont get home until 6:30 at least..

Im also renovating my house so my weekends are busy with that. .

Also, the car was at 125,300 and due for a belt and major service anyway so it was a no brainer..

No reason to get them to do the service etc, then tow the car back to mine so I can replace the turbo.. just to save myself $400.. the only reason I was gonna get them to do the dump was coz it had to come off anyway while the turd-brp was being done..

If it happened any other time I would have done it myself..
