Sub Box for 04/09 Wagon

Postby Anson » Mon Nov 12, 2012 9:49 pm

Made this sub box for my outback.
Was going to make a few more if people are interested...
I've fitted a 12" sub to mine, which is the biggest that will fit.
-Would easily fit a 10'' or an 8"
I have yet to figure out a way to mount it to the car, but so far
it hasn't moved turning corners...

At the moment I'm just looking for the material cost to build them. So around $200.

Was looking on the Internet - JL Audio sell one for $800.

Obviously mine won't have the build/sound quality of JL's and won't be "certified"...

Wow! Thats cool as! I've been trying to convince my wife that a box like that would be great. So neat and unobtrusive. Great job. :good: What did you make it out of? Looks like fibreglass.

Nice one, that looks great. Definitely would be good for 8 - 10".

$800 for the JL one
You old go to a good audio shop and get a custom one for less.

Will you actually be making them to suit specs of subs?
Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

Are you running a separate amp for that or driving it of the stock one? if you are running an amp for it where did you mount it? Speak install looks great, am interested in a similar thing myself.
