A car with 27,000kms with a complete service history showing no variance in O2 sensor voltage pings from 2800-3200RPM and again from 5000-6000RPM. You tell him his O2 sensor are on the way out.
Your H6 tunes show you have a 45% pedal angle requesting 100% throttle opening. Off course its going to feel quick.
The Subaru O2 sensors have a service life of 160,000kms. Information from Subaru itself.
If you think it's your IAT settings then fix them all immediately. I've already had PMs from your customers advising of pinging.
And really who gives two squirts about a Hyundai or a Nissan. Go talk that crap on their forums and get shot down there.

No, I was addressing YOU... so your saying you do not understand it since you are the one examining the work? No reply as to the information posted? Surely the subject is not too complex for you. More fuel under 3200rpm than stock and at the peak torque point(since you know AFR's are affected by AVCS right?)
As I said, Intake Air Temperature affects the peak load and camshaft change over point. Info I have says 4400rpm and 2500rpm, which is the email I have as well. Oddly enough, when the hydraulic tensioner was replaced in 3 or 4 cars, the 2500rpm noise disappeared as the engine can ramp up from under 20 to 40 degrees AVCS faster, meaning less mechanical drag and the noise gone.

SI Drive tunes... yes, that is what 'Sport#' is all about(hence the factory values that are used which give full throttle at 55% lol, nice research there :air_kiss:) but since Intel does not even GET 100% throttle and still feels strong or Sport mode gets 100% at 85% accelerator, Sport# is actually 50% at 2000rpm for WOT, wont see full throttle prior and yet it has torque at 1500rpm... want a debate on airflow stall characteristics? The other non-SI Drive cars do not get full throttle until over 85% accelerator pedal, which is actually near stock.

Seen a H6 engine that was dyno tuned pinging on 12.5:1 AFR's at the cam switch point and peak torque with IAM on zero, guess who tuned it?

Agreed Tom that your O2 sensors may well be on the way out.

I contacted a mate at Subaru service who advised the serviced life of a H6 front O2 sensor is 160,000kms under normal conditions.

This was based on the number of posts I'd been seeing with a recommendation to replace O2 sensors including a car with only 27,000kms being advised his O2 sensors were on their way out.

Why do you change the pedal angle request then?

Publicly undefined tables in the ROM that determine 'calculated engine torque'... an engine that makes more crank torque needs bigger values. Audi/VW and R35 GTR amongst others use this technology. Why would the MY07 STi Impreza run 400RT but the WRX runs 320RT? ;)

I feel sorry for those tuners trying to tune the new CVT FXT/LGT/WRX/STi because there is going to be a few upset owners when the box goes bang on modest power increases.

personally, this bullshit needs to stop.

Bruce, its just childish that every thread Matt's name is mentioned, including other forums, that you have to share your 2c ...
Yes, you werent happy with your tune. Yes, you had problems. That happened how many months ago now? Whats in the past is in the past.

Instead of constantly bragging about how "shit" Matt's tune was, why don't you instead constantly brag about how "good" Michael's tune is.

Just a little food for thought...

I feel a little sad seeing two blokes who are knowledgeable in different ways, banging heads. It should not be about winning points, it should be about gaining knowledge for the benefit of all forum members.

Mate There are lots of things happening behind the forums that u may not be aware of and I think Bruce has ever right to say what he does, if half the people that had tunes done grew balls and pulled there heads out of the sand and said what's really going on it would be more helpful.

Bruce is a champion and I'll back him up 100%

HERE! HERE!

Well said GB :big_boss:

110% for Brother Bruce....Those people out there who do not speak up ( for what ever reasons there are )Bruce is speaking up on behalf of you... in the background they contact Bruce asking for advice, questions, answers and feedback experience ....( not just on this forum....wrx, ozfoz to name a few )...these people post all the nice comments and positive feedback on the forums... but yet on emails, sms and pm's they post the quite opposite? hypocrites!...F%^&%$# $#^&&* me....

And at the end of the day I'm suprized Bruce hasn't commented back to these people.."contact your tuner"....

Instead he spends the time to do the exact opposite...( maybe cause he knows how it feels not to get a response on time, delayed revisions, wrong revisions given, BS responses, BS comments like "hold onto your hat", 2000rpm skids, blah blah blah....I've seen it all 1st hand with my own eyes....

Bruce not only checks Kido/TH tunes but also TP, springy, chasers, edge, hpf, msr and many many more.....they all have there cons and pros....The main reason why Bruce speaks up against Kido/TH tunes? Well at this point I think it's obvious....

Yes there are numerous sarcastic comments and allot of banter going on...but in the essence of things it's about time someone spoke up and showed the other side of the coin....

There has been so many false promises.....big BS claims.....putting down other tuners unnecessarily......mumbo jumbo comments that sometimes just makes you laugh...

Sorry for hijacking thread......and in the words of dr20t ( I love everyone. Thank you )

Been out of this thread for a while..?

Who's Bruce?... :D

No, Seriously.
Why is Bruce the guru for checking everybody's tunes, PhD in advanced engine management design? Electro-mechanical/ Chemical engineering/ thermodynamics?

bruce has learned a fair amount while logging and dealing with many tuners, he has checked heaps of peoples learning veiws and helped log them, our kebab group meets often have him checking 5-10 cars lv and explaining whats going on. He has done many favors to many people on this forum and others me included, he has checked mine lv and sent me copies of my tune like 4-5 times we have changed a couple of things on my tune like rev limit, he does this on his own time, hate to thing how much time he has spent helping out others and not getting paid a cent!!!

are you being a smart ass asking if he has those qualifications?

Fair enough he is taking his time to look at others tunes but as rob said what makes Bruce's judgement so special. Not picking an argument here I'd just like to know Bruce's background.
