My first car was a 1.6 litre Suzuki Baleno and it cost me about $1.2k for comprehensive insurance with my parents as the owner but me as a driver. Ridiculous for such a low powered boring economy car.

That is ridiculous! Who was that under?
My mate has a 1.3 Suzuki Sierra and he only pays $50 less than me (except his car cost $5k as opposed to the $12k mine cost) which doesn't make sense.

Well, I guess his car doesn't have a proper roof as such so maybe the theft is higher but that's still pretty obscene IMO.

As for the car, I get it back Wednesday.
As an apology to the car after, well, getting it into a fight with a 4WD, I am planning on respraying the inner guards and the wipers/plastic bit around the washers.
That may sound pretty anal but they are the only two areas where the car is showing a bit of age (now that the front bumper has been resprayed) so I will be doing a few cheap, clean up jobs to make it properly immaculate.

If I could ask the forums for advice though, I was considering getting some WRX 4 pots done up to look like a Brembo (decals and all) from a certain forum member later in the year if I could take him into doing it. I was thinking silver with black decals.

Are fake Brembo's a bit dicky? It won't really affect my decision as I would prefer fake Brembo's over the Subaru decals of the 4 pots but I am curious as to what other people think.

Wow that's alright! I think, under my parents insurance on my L's, it's $800 a year through RACQ.
I will have to get some quotes when the time comes

Bit ricey IMO :P

I am going to paint my callipers and do the decals maybe when I put some new shoes on it, I love the look of it.

If you go for the brembos (:P) then ITS STI has some for sale: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=10869

25 bucks posted!

Hey one of my window frame thinies, you know the black metal bit at the bottom of the window on the outside, its got weathering, how do you reckon I should paint it?

btw my insurance was $800 and its only third party :O Cheapest comp I could find at my age was about $4.5k, cant go on my parents as they all live in NSW!

AAMI was up there with the cheapest quotes when I was looking for insurance. Correct Jack they are under AAMI, who are under Suncorp.. Haha. Get this though, Suncorp don't insure under 25's driving turbo cars, full stop. Weird eh?

Yeah, four pots painted are Ricey but the crappy stick on covers aren't? :P I saw them on MCM.
I know it's ricey but #YOLO. My mates won't notice the difference :)

That bit would be a PITA to paint. You could guarantee over spray if you masked it, and it would be terrible to pull apart due to the pillarless doors I imagine.
Unless anyone has done it before, and I'm completely wrong. Haha. Have you tried hitting it hard with polish?

AAMI is probably who I'll end up with then :) I'll play a few companies off of each other though because I'm reckless.
Shame about Suncorp, although they're expensive they have proper coverage. They never argue with any claims.

Lol meme bomb.

As I said, I will end up doing it anyway (funds permitting) but was curious about people's opinions.

If it clips off then go for it. I didn't know it clipped off. A spray pack would be fine if you were generous with the coats and have a decent technique :)

Whatever you decide to do Kody, do it once and not twice :)

Like I have done a few times, it may save you money at the start but in the end its best to get done how you really want and not to compromise :D

Would never touch caliper covers! haha. I was thinking more of a 4 pot with the face grinded back like your Outback brakes. Looks like I may have to get some money together to get the Cruisn brake treatment done in a month or two if you'd be willing to do another set? :D

What I really would like is real Brembo's XD But my budget won't allow for that.
Ever.
:(

However some four pots will make me more than happy :D
