Lets talk tuning (KiDo Tunes)

While I agree an LV is important to be sure that significant knock isn't present and fuelling is in check, it's not the only way to determine quality of the tune. The fact that idle is smooth, power delivery is early and smooth and the drive feels good (all Shav's feedback) this holds just as much importance in my opinion.
People seem to be very hung up on LV here for some reason :/

Thanks guys.

I'll get another lv done as a precaution after a week to make sure all I working well. I place the use of the 3 port solenoid as a major problem solver for matts tune. The acceleration smoothness and ability to come on boost sooner is like chalk and cheese for a near stock car like mine. Not sure if it added any more power but it feels like I have useable power at my disposal early on in the rev range. Hope that make sense.
Cheers

Feels a hundred times better than the previous tune from HPF. No knock either ;)

-8.4 on the existing tune when logged(AF#1 learning was set at -1% due to CAI so not because it was running lean), had the same AVCS cam gear issue that seems to plague the 07's for some reason as well.

I had mine tuned last Friday and I've got the same things to say, feels awesome! Massive difference in low down torque, pulls strong even from 1500rpm. It just feels much chunkier. 5th gear feels great from about 60km/h, and then it just pulls like a train, all below 3000rpm. Fuel economy is a little better but I haven't driven it much yet to confirm exact figures. I did fill up with a different petrol from what I had during the tune though. Filled up with Shell instead of my normal Caltex. Will that make any difference?

Matt was great during the tuning, explained everything I needed to know. Even after the tune I sent him a message asking him a question and got a reply instantly. Great customer service. Very happy with the results :D

Cheers,
Matt

Specifically manual MY07's?
Possibly 2 issues, the latter, as deduced by Matt:
Lag between L&R banks = wear & tear, clogging, blocking of AVCS components? (mechanical or oil related)
RHS oscillation in cruise = electronic interference?

Matt did confirm with me that my AVCS cam gears were in great condition and were not suffering the same wear issues as other have. I do have an auto though, so not sure if that makes a difference.

I also concur about the extra torque down low. Its taken me a day or 2 to realize it but yes, the car definitely gets moving much faster under 3000rpm and only in S mode. Great to have this improved.

Benny so that is 2 auto 07's that have confirmed their avcs system is fine, every other manual car that has bothered to log it and post results so far has the issue?

Yes, Matt's digging deep on this one, helping with the diagnosis which is great!
I'll update the research as soon as we know more.

My manual 07 doesn't have the issue, as checked by Bruce.

seems lots of these avcs issues are happening to matt tuned cars...

Brandon it is not fair to say that at all.

It seems to be a common problem with our cars and is not tuner related.
Imania was the first person to be tuned by Matt on our forum by the way, no tune prior to that.
