Hi there

Introduce yourself

Hey Firsty.

It'll take a while to loosen up and then I'm sure you'll be smiling at the performance.

Ours has done nearly 3000ks now. Super smooth on the freeway - you'll need that cruise control.

And kicks arse around town too.

Not quite as much fun as the rex, but getting there.

Greg.

Welcome dude, bummer about the lights..

Re run in: I pulsed the revs, gave it a bit thru the rev ranges, but never held it for extended periods for the first 500k. After that, I opened it up...

If you end up putting on an aftermarket exhaust on your car, I'd love to check it out!

Mate I have just fitted the HKS Silent High Power to mine, sounds and looks great, welcome to see it when ever you want...

First Subaru wrote:Mo_GT where about are you in perth? I am south. Read the article, seems like the better way in short is to warm up the engine COMPLETELY and drive it hard and varies the gears. Did i get this right?

I'm in vic park.

yep, the jist of it is, warm it up, take it out on the fwy/hwy, then try and drive with full open throttle - like on the fwy, cruise at 70kms on 4th, put your foot down until you hit 100(or more at your discretion), then back off to 70 again and repeat a few times.

Bye,
Mo

Hey First.

Ran it in as per the manual - be nice to it for the first 1000 ks. Keep it pretty much below 4000rpm and don't run it at a constant engine speed for too long. Oh. And no sports # till then - dunno whether it makes a difference given that sports and sports # give the same power output. It's just easier to be god when it isn't on #

Same rules as Mr Subaru set for my Rex.

Seems to have worked.

Greg. :D
