Er 55 code on dash cluster.

Postby Mat04 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 5:03 am

After plugging everything back in on my car, I started the car and while it was ideling I had "er 55" show up on the cluster.

Does anyone know what error code 55 stands for?

It's actually Error SS, for speed sensor.

If it didn't go after you reset your ECU then there's a good chance one of your sensors has been damaged and will need to be replaced. This happened to me after a rushed wheel alignment once where it was damaged with a ratchet. I think it cost me $400 to fix (but this was at North Shore Subaru).

For that problem yeah. Than run the engine for a bit longer once fluids are filled up and it's bellowing white smoke out the exhaust. Looks like it will be coming back out to get pulled down and check again.
