Sunspare's and AM auto are local to me, and from what i've dealt with them, they're pretty good!

Might be worth looking for a new mechanic whilst you’re looking for a new engine…….. 2 weeks to confirm the motors “blocked”.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

its over heating and when i top it up with coolant (radiator and reserve tank) it will eventually shoot back into the reserve and stay there. so theres no coolant circulating the car its all in the reserve and eventually that will become almost full and start over flowing.

thanx sent him a pm =)

I was also thinking how much work would be involved in if i decided to drop another engine like i was thinking maybe 2.5 turbo or maybe a whole different type of engine like a rb25 or something. Anyone can point me in the right dirction to go for this and has anyone done it yet?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, you my friend or rather your CAR engine needs the head gaskets replaced. Engine removed from car, remove lots of engine parts, remove cylinder heads, fit new gaskets and bolt it all back together

DONE and problem fixed so long dodgy coolant situation hasn't caused engine damage.

Major expense fitting any other engine, the 2.5LT will set you back more than any H6 will ;)

RB25 will never fit in the engine bay... howver, I have seen an LS1 Commodore V8 engine in one

Not necessarily head gaskets. I'd start with a new thermostat and radiator cap, fresh coolant and a reverse flushing the cooling system. All cheap and easily done at home.

Failing that I would replace the head gaskets.
