Hi recently I have been getting a slight shudder only at idle, car revs and drives as normal but I'm only getting about 370km out of a full tank.
From what I have read so far, everything points to a faulty O2 sensor, which makes sense. Before I go out and spend $300, would the ECU throw an engine light if this sensor is dead? cause my car doesn't.

quite possible that this happens if the ECU cannot close the Throttel Body far enough to obtain the idle speed it wants.
As you're probably aware after poking around under the bonnet of your car, with the fly by wire throttle on these things, Gen 4 (liberty) and on do not have an IACV/Idle control motor - the TB does it all

Well change over injectors seem to have fixed the misfire :) . By the way had already spent $100's on throttle body and every thing else cleans  , changed over air flow meter etc. etc. all the obvious stuff with about 4 different garages, two of which where Subaru dealers, all improved running but not for long.

Still running like a bitch when cold though :? , hope that second attempt at Flash Tune in two weeks helps with this, first one couldn't hack the ECU :angry2: .

I have this problem too in my 03 gt. Changed plugs yesterday but still missing this morning. How much roughly to have injectors replaced? I just bought it and already hate it.

If you are replacing them with a set of stock injectors it is a fairly straight forward job. IE do it yourself and save.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

dont know if this has been said already?

But maybe a compression test might be logical? just to make sure the engine is still happy...

good luck :)

Got injectors cleaned on friday and so far, so good. No misfire at all. Still expecting it to come back within a couple of days though. I live life with low expectations, that way im always surprised.

Missfire came back today. I knew it would. No idea what the problem could be now.

I had the same problems with one of my GTs, I had three at the time (don't ask why, I was in an undecided moment between sedan and wagon). The new wagon had a very slight miss/stumble at idle. Swapped the injectors with one of the other cars and it went away, the other car started the stumble as soon as it was started. There are definitely some dodgy injectors out there.

I too have suffered from the injector issue that seems to be a common problem with the first of the Gen4 Lib GTs. I had the CEL light come on / off intermittently and after reading all the posts on this forum, the first thing I did was take it to my subaru mechanic (SandJ) and get them to check the code. The diagnosis was the car was running lean, and so a quick check of the banjo bolt filters followed to ensure the VVT was not advanced as some others have experienced on the forums. With no issues there it seemed it was the injectors causing the problem and I didn't want to waste or money paying my mechanics to work through injector cleaning, upper cylinder head cleaning and so on. Quote for them to source and fit genuine injectors was around $1,500 (injectors were $288 each from subaru).

I hate paying full retail for anything, so a bit of time spent scouring the net I found the following website http://www.subarupartsonline.com. Armed with the part number I managed to secure all four with postage to Oz for $500 (before the dollar slipped below parity). I paid for my mechanic to fit them whilst the car was in for other work, so the exercise ended up costing me $700 which is a massive saving. If I could understand Japanese I could have probably saved more!!

Hope this helps out anyone with an early GT.

I should have updated this earlier but my misfire was caused by a faulty afm. Put new one in and to this day it still has not happened.
Just incase anyone was wondering. :D
