I think your first problem is the cost. Not worth it in my opinion. For that much you could buy a B4 and even keep your RX.

Nice and pics please? and how long did it take to install and how much all up if you don't mind me asking? Thanks :D

I hope to have some pics up shortly. I have done all the work myself (bar Karl (Dropz) helping me out when it didn't start - stupid clutch switch... I'm not used to having to engage the clutch before turning the key... ) and its cost me a tad over $3000 and 3-4 weeks of every third evening in the garage. That includes the half cut, postage, fluids and little bits and pieces I have replaced along the way. I didn't need to modify my wiring apart from a few minor things like the sunroof. I'm also yet to find a turbo bonnet so that will increase the cost of the conversion somewhat. Also got $800 for the existing engine with 210kms and still have the dual range gearbox. It's driving now, with just a few things to tidy up before taking it for its roadworthy inspection. I guess that main thing this shows is if you have time, a few basic skills and a logical approach to the job, it can be achieved at quite a reasonable cost. That said, the quote you have from ichiban sounds quite reasonable if you want to pay someone to do the job, as its not without its headaches...

I'll reassess in a few months once I have things just so and see how much I end up spending on maintenance and some mild improvements.

The cost for Ichiban to convert it is definitely reasonable.

But as stated, for that price, sell your car or trade, buy a B4 and you'll be in front with a better platform.

I was offered a B4 for 7.5K locally.......

It is but he gets the wheels from American and I wish I had got 8 inch wide but for a gen 3 7.5 with meaty tyres is better aka you don't have to roll guards if your low like me :)

After alot of thinking and adding up tonight buying a B4 and swapping the parts over I want to keep and selling my car is better value wise and more reliable and everything! Took me a while to realize lol
