Hey guys, my name is Aaron and I'm from the Deep South, Adelaide.

I've been a long time lover of Suby's and while I don't have one right now, I'm working on it as fast as I can! I used to own a 1989 L series wagon and loved it to the very end.
Right now i'm running a '96 Charade I bought as an A=>B a couple of years ago but it's definately time to upgrade. I'm looking around at the moment trying to get myself a Gen 3 2.5RX. They're right in my price range and due to the nature of my work I've had the oppurtunity to drive a few and have been very impressed.

If you have any tips/suggestions on what to look out for when buying a Gen 3 please share, any bit of info will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Az

*BTW if you're ever looking for a cheap kick-around I strongly suggest a '96 Charade. 200,000k's+, get's treated like sh*t and doesn't miss a beat*

Welcome to the site , and good luck with your search, I own a Gen 3 and yes we are a minority on here but lots to learn on this forum.Theres some great guys with Gen 3 on here very helpful to me , Things to look out for, well a good filled out log book, Head gasket, CV boots , Mech inspection etc, basically dont get emotionally attatched to the first one you see it took me 3 months before I found mine didnt want one that had been clapped out so looked for a mature owner who appreciated a great car but didn't mind a little squirt here and there, not too many mech mods but some cosmetic ones ,give it premium fuel and regular services generally what you put in you get out so love it and it will love you back and most of all enjoy it , enjoy the site look forward with what you do with it when you get it cheers Sandy

Welcome to the forums mate. Great people here for advice and all round car chat!

Gen 3 is almost a classic haha no shame in owning one at all. I think some motors are just awesome no matter how old they get! Good luck in finding the right one for you!

thanks guys, I have heard the gaskets are something to watch out for. There are only two in SA that match the criteria, both on carsales.com

( http://www.carsales.com.au/DesktopDefau ... rt=default ) in case you wanted a look

Hoping to get out and have a look at them this weekend; an interesting side-note: Suby's tend to have a higher asking price in SA, usually by about a couple of grand when comparing to other states - no idea why..

Anyway I'll keep you posted

almost forgot to mention... one of the cars there is rolling on a set chrome 18" wheels but the seller says he can include the stock rims free which I would definately be swapping over. Don't want you to get the wrong idea about me so early on
