Hey matt
tune is still going great, keep telling myself every time i fill up "ok im going to drive normally / grandma spec this tank" and see what range i get out of interest.
but i just can't help myself.. hahaha :D :D

do i need a retune / adjustment at all when i take off the headers and catback and return to stock exhaust..?

+1... LOL
I actually got just over 400km on the last tank, although the fuel light is on at the moment. Going to go fill it up at lunch time.

I'm getting between 330km - 380km each tank and that is running a larger turbo, full tbe, fmic etc. on E85. And I don't drive like a grandma I am giving it a squirt all the time. I think that is fairly reasonable economy given the mods and fuel type, plus driving style. I have not driven it sedately for more than a day since my tune!

Im getting between 480-520km to DTE out of my tank with just the tune around town. Mixture of spirited and sedate driving. Notice that my economy improves when the car is driven spirited rather than grandpa style though. Go figure.

With all the ducks lining up , hopefully I'll be getting my KiDo tune done here in Canberra late Feb and will be interested in seeing how it affects fuel use - I currently get figures a bit like Shav - between high 400's to low-mid 500's with a mix of sedate and spirited driving in my Gen V now around town (including peak traffic morning and arvo - which is nothing like Sydney peak but still lots of lane blockers to go around)....

I can't wait - looking forward to improving the Gen V's overall driveability... :)
2011 Gen5 Liberty GT (auto), STi front lip and trunk spoiler, Sports mesh grille, lowered and improved handling (more to come), Full X-Force 3" exhaust, King alloys - KiDo (Matt) Tune, Imported DRLs, Corazon Big Scoop - and loving it!! Hmmm, May need a bigger Turbo next :)

Wow! Sounds very impressive.
I bought my 05 RB 3.0 SP back in 2006...Never thought I'd have it so long, but I love it. However, it seems I'm not the only one with a few issues with the engine management set-up. Mine is very, very doughy down low till about 3,500rpm where is comes on strong, fuel economy seems fairly heavy at an average of above 12l on cruising around town and drops to about 9l on the hwy (which I was pretty happy with till I saw what some of you guys are achieving). Occassionally seems to have this deadspot taking off from the lights, where it almost stalls. Cruise control, is fine on the flat but coasting down hills it surges quiet alot which gets annoying.
So bottom line, is it sounds like this tune could be for me. I'm on the Gold Coast and very interested in getting it done, happy to drive to Brisbane or even down south if necessary. Are you making any trips up this way in the next couple of months?

Henry/Rrush from this forum was pointing out he got around 7L/100km's post tune from his GenV on a recent trip north... 60L means 850Km to a tank!

I caught up with Matt this weekend just gone (I was next in line after Henry - rrushh)

Henry wearing this big bloody grin  , so it set things up on what to expect

It was great meeting Matt - very friendly, and was happy to explain and answer my newbie questions. After several minutes of tapping into his keyboard, we took my car for a spin.

Once we hit the straight and came to a set of lights, Matt subtley adjusted the SI drive to Sports#. Lights turned green, car felt ballistic (compared to before) and 2-3 secs later I was wearing the same bloody grin as Henry did

I really appreciated how Matt took the time to explain all the adjustments he had done, and even made tweaks on the fly to suit my driving style.

The biggest things I noticed - muchly improved driveability (smoother and more consistent power delivery), more torque down low, and (felt like) quicker gear changes. Will test fuel usage and see what initial readings are like (I'm about to fill up and go for a spin :))

Matt - not sure if you got my sms msg yet, but just wanted to say many many thanks for the awesome tune and learning session. My mate seemed pretty happy too, and looks like you convinced him to get a set of Kido coilovers down the track.

hmmmmmmmm.... and I think Dump Pipe just got added to the mod list

Hi SYM,

Couldn't resist the urge I see. I should never have taken you for a drive in mine

Yes, I know the smile you are talking about.

My mate that also met you at the Casula Bunnings carpark when you went for the end of year drive had his Outback 3L tuned last Friday by Matt. He is very happy with the outcome and said mid range is so much better and he feels that he isn't pushing the accelerator pedal as far as before and getting better results.

Matts the man :ok:

SI Drive Sport# is only 2psi more boost lol. Best of all, the Boost Controller SI Drive function allows for the DP to go on and then you can drive it in Sport or Intel modes until the retune :)
