2 x O2 sensors. 1 on each bank.

Out of interest, does anyone know why the H6 learning views have the additional row of A/F learning values compared to the H4?

AF#2 is because your engine has two front O2 sensors compared to H4.
AF#1 is cylinders 1, 3 and 5
AF#2 is cylinders 2, 4 and 6

bass_straitener wrote:Am I correct in saying then that effectively D range is disabled to ensure it doesn't influence the OL fuel trims?

Also if your MAF scaling is within 1% as per the stock tune LV then it would be quite fine as a clogged filter etc would see fuel trims in CL and should have a corresponding and advantageous outcome in OL.

Yes, disabled for that reason. IAM Failsafe Fuel set at below 0.751 to add fuel if a vacuum leak triggers an IAM drop.

I tested the OL region with a filthy filter(I have one specifically for this purpose) and a new air filter, the difference in AFR under such large loads is at most 0.1 AFR ;)

Stock tune on a brand new, as it rolled off the showroom floor car is typically -3 to -7%, Subaru set their MAF scalings rich to account for leaks. means going from ay -5% to +25% allows for 30% more fuel to be added for a vac leak ;) Safety margin :)

Also, for those that have ever been involved with other makes of OBD2 compliant cars, AF#1 Learning is commonly known as LTFT, AF#1 Compensation is known as STFT.

Been getting the same code on and off for a while now.Suspected it to be the 02 sensors as the fuel consumtion went through the roof until i gave the MAF a clean which bought it back down a bit.

Have you looked into sourcing new ones yet?

My fuel consumption has been pretty high recently and although cleaning the MAF sensor has been on my to do list, the variation between each AF Learning bank points towards dying O2 sensors. I'll probably hit up G88 for replacements I reckon.

Gino, were you logging around the time you replaced your O2 sensors? Did you get a discrepancy between AF learning values too in your learning view?

Yep. Had large discrepancies between lh/RH and fuel economy was getting worse. Replaced both. Reset the ecu and all is good.

So BOT, how often will an LV change?
Say I saw 1 red cell in the main table when giving it some, might that go black by the next day if taking it easy?
Cos I did and will grab an LV later to confirm...

Well, considering SH9 Foresters with VF52s on corn juice run mid 12s and DR20T car runs low 12s with an even bigger turbo... I find it hard to accept. The TD04 is just not capable of producing the boost where needed to push the 1580KG box down the quarter that quick.

But I'd love to be proven wrong cause people have been asking for proof of this for months now and still, nothing has been put forth. If it were possible, there are many guys including myself that will take our bigger turbos out and put the TD04 back in and go corn juice. Sell the bigger turbo, keep the $$$ in our pockets and at the same time have a 12 sec car = win win. Unfortunately, it's just a dream.

Which main table? The Air flow tables, or Fine Learning Knock tables?

Personally, I wouldn't be too concerned if I saw a red cell in air flow table as long as it's within +-5 range in closed loop. Just means the ECU is adding or taking away fuel to reach target AFR. If you're seeing high numbers, positive or negative, then could be boost leak, MAF sensor, MAF scaling, or the tune in its entirety lol. It's the open loop that you need to be concerned about... oh and knock.
