hi guys I'm just getting my shit together to install this bad boy alpine v12 amp in my car, now I have a few questions to ask b4 I proceed

1. I m using 4GA wire from battery to amp. Is this difficult to run this size wire in a gen4? whats the best way to run it?

2. as you can see in the picture I have the factory McIntosh cable connecter that plugs into your factory sub i was thinking to plug that into the Speaker to RCA Adapter can I do this? or do I need to run directly to the speaker cables?

1. 4ga is easy to run. Connect to battery, run through grommet that is directly behind the glove box. Comes in through the firewall directly behind the glovebox at which point you run it down the passenger side all the way to the boot.

1 thing I'd recommend is getting rid of the craptastic fuse holder you have and get a ANL or Midi-ANL fuse holder. Many have had issues with those fuse holders, with the solder melting in the end of the fuse. Fuse looks fine, however not enough current passes and you have issues.

2. Plug the connector into the factory sub wiring and connect that into the RCA adaptor. That way you are not cutting your cables and if you ever need to remove the amp, wiring up the original sub will be as easy as unplug RCA adaptor, plug in to old sub.

^^ I think i may have this problem with my fuse.
Attempted to put my sub/ amp in today. I ran the power cable, rca, remote and found a solid ground yet no power to the amp. From a quick hit with the multi metre there is no power passing through the sony fuse. Im gunna switch the fuse around the other way incase its a 1 way thing? If not new fuse will b going in.

On a lighter note running 4ga was a peice of cake, I did it without anyone to help pull from the other end. All that i needed to remove was the bottom part of the rear seat and the side trims down the passenger side, then just follow the existing cables.

Those glass type fuses are definately not directional.

Replace the holder with an ANL or Midi-ANL type holder and fuse.

Cheers Michael, hopefully I can pick 1 up tomorow and the amp will kick over. Then i can start working on deadening my front doors and making spacers for my new splits

Is there SONY printed anywhere on the fuse itself? If so, the S should be at the end with the positive lead from the battery and the Y should be at the other end. This is for fuse holders that have multiple 'outs' to run multiple amps. If you look at the Y it looks like a splitter (1 in going to 2 out) if you know what I mean.
