Looking forward to your write up on the Rear SB as I'm planning that one too. :D

I'm not sure if that would have helped, as the plates are meant to be snug, and there's no free play in a rotational way. I might loosen the bolt and see if it will straighten, because I did put both the plates on before the bar. but I don't think it will.

I have the STi badge for the lip. that will probly go on today after I gave her a proper wash yesterday evening : )

I don't really mind the yellow. I had considered going pink, but thought that would be cheating a bit. But if I do ever paint them it probly will be black

Worse case scenario, elongate the hole slightly that's giving you trouble. If it's only half a mm it shouldn't make any difference to how the brace works.

Do you think I could do that with a dremel grinder on that grade of steel? Or should I take it someplace to have done properly.

I don't think it would be that high grade steel that a dremel wouldn't do the job. Just make sure to mark it properly first, and don't take out any more than you absolutely need to. Take many small cuts rather than 1 big cut and you should be fine.

Thanks, that did the trick. It's still not totally straight relative to the bar, but it's good enough. Most of all it slips on now without having to hit it, but still snug and flush with the tower top.

Also, the final flourish for the spoiler lip... <3

Good to hear. Better than potentially damaging one of the studs. How do you find the strut brace for handling? Has it improved it noticeably? Or are they more for looks?

To be honest I never really threw the car around before putting it on to really feel the difference cornering, but it does FEEL different, a little more tactile through the steering wheel on the kind of 8 tenths cruise I like to do around the ranges and vineyards near here.

All these parts have been sourced from the for sale forum here. The bargain hunt is half the fun : )

On the car:

Finally got time to have my cat back exhaust put on the car. That Fujitsubo Legalis Super R 3" Catback Exhaust is one sweeeeet sounding exhaust. Subtle and smooth on idle and hwy cruising, but really opens up and rumbles when dropping the power down. I love it!

Coming very soon...

WHEELS - Snapped up this set of 4 STi rims for $900. Found a 5th (someone's spare) for another 300. Then had them touched up like new and painted a custom shadow-effect metallic bronze. Similar to "shadow chrome" only... bronzier?

I'm so happy with how they turned out. Dark and menacing in the dark, a really deep bronze in the sun, and every shade in between depending on the angle and the light.
Full set of Falken FK453s going on this weekend and getting them on the car. I can't wait!

Before touching up and painting. Set of 4 in good nick for a sweet $900 Score!! ^_^

Great score on the wheels, and I *really* love the new colour. I reckon something like that would look superb on my Newport Blue GT Spec.B, I may have to get the paint code from you... :)
