If the officials see all the fog coming out under your car you will be in trouble..... good luck though 8)

Alex I ran normal tyre pressures but should probably run them lower!

Must look into this dry ice!!

if you have more overheating problems,
the north american legacys have a radiator about 15 mm thick, the impreza's have a radiator the same everything but its 30mm thick.

another thing is the front mount intercooler, they block a lot of flow to the coolant and air condition radiators.

the bonnet scoop also raises the pressure in the engine compartment, so if you block it off or mostly block it off it would help also.

for your wideband o2 sensor to read from roam raider, i connected mine to the rear o2 sensor plug. and i set the wideband to out put a voltage 0-1 volt , making .5 volts lambda of 1.

Thanks frank, I actually didn't have any overheating issues after switching back to stock radiator caps. After repeated launches at the drags and spirited driving on the way home the issue did not rear it's ugly head! Will keep in mind about the radiator though, it was going to be the next step for me as long as there were no other diagnosed problems that the overheating could be.

Interesting comment about the bonnet scoop, wouldn't have thought about that. How would you suggest blocking it? I was going to keep it open as I was going to mount my tranny cooler where the TMIC used to be...

And wideband is all sorted now, O2 sensor is mounted in a bung in the dump pipe near the turbo, have been able to successfully log data through a serial to usb cord into my laptop!

the trans cooler in the bonnet scoop would be useless if you sit in traffic. when the trans actually makes the most heat.

a simple piece of sheet metal blocking most of the scoop would be easy. Leave a small opening for some air to blow on the turbo would probably be a good idea.

But I wouldn't have the trans cooler for traffic, it would mainly be for track days. The way id want it operating is using a thermostat so it only gets used once it gets over a certain heat, that way I could prevent overcooling. Is my logic off?

the trans mission always makes heat.
it makes more heat when sitting in traffic than cruising at 90 kmph.
if you were to have the external cooler in series with the heat exchanger in the radiator that would be fine. ( assuming that your models have the radiator heat exchanger for the trans cooler ? )

So haven't updated in a little while. As well as picking up a set of bronze bushes for the centre diff which I have yet to get installed, dr20t and I will be getting HKS Easy Writer so that boost can be manipulated at any RPM with my HKS EVCS boost controller.

I am hoping that with this, Matt (Kido tuning) will be able to fix up my first to second gear shifting issue due to overboosting!

Then we shall see how much the car improves over the quarter mile

Boost curve with controlled WG duty, not flat boost ;)

I like the factory system with a 3 port but the guys(mick and jerome) like the HKS EVC 6

For better or for worse it ends up roughly the same cost anyway if you factor in labour to take out the boost controller, sell it, buy a 3 port and labour to have it installed compared to just buying the easy writer and having one cord installed :)

But yes, I quite like my EVC 6 :)
