From the multiple sources that i've read, you start the car up without selecting anything. After a while it will give you the option to change languages

So cleaning the drive didn't work. Tried it about 5-6 times.
The drive makes the common "I'm struggling to read the disk" noises. Sounds like its spinning up then stopping continually however its continually spinning the disk.

Simon. Will PM you about the drive.

I just got a Japanese Navigation screen and it is all in Japanese. Did anyone know how to change the language???

I have a set of US navigation screen and a Garmin GVN 53 for sale if anyone interested (with a complete plugs so that you can make your own harness). I can install any map on the Garmin unit :)

I already tried that and it didn't work.
If I could find a broken screen from Australia, I think that I can change it to english.

A BIG thanks to Simon for the loan of the drive.

Unfortunately I get the same error (System unable to access the program) with his drive.

Any other suggestions? It's due for a service, so may just ask Subaru what the deal is if I've exhausted all my other options.

I can help you with a custom harness for your retrofit.
I'm from Saudi Arabia and I have all the connectors that you'll need.
