If the car is in 'P'ark and the Park brake set, opening the door should not result in a chime. If you then get out of the car with the keys you will get chimes on closing the door!

If you don't have it in Park AND the Park Brake on, you will get a long beep when opening the door.

It's a rhythmic chime, not a constant one.

Basically goes as follows;

1. Park Car.
2. Put in Neutral.
3. Press Parking Brake.
4. Undo Seatbelt.
5. Open Door (Car still on.)
6. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP....
7. Get out of car.
8. "Fffuuuuuuuuu!!!"
9. Turn car off.

Now I know this isn't the remote key one as that has a pretty distinctive noise.

I've also noticed that if you quickly drop passengers off (ie. rock up at the front gates of a concert, car is on, im still driving with my seatbelt on. I stop the car, in neutral, passengers proceed to disembark the vehicle, all doors closed. Car continually beeps, had to drive 50m down the road and turn the car off and on again to fix it.)

Anyway lets just say I'm annoyed at all the fkn loud noises that comes out of this awesome car, YET IT DOESN'T HAVE A SIMPLE HORN ALARM FITTED.

My suby only does beeps for seat belt not worn, over 15kph. Our Mazda 3 beeps when key is in ignition, not on, open drivers door. Dealer says its a roadworthy thing, when its plainly not, as MOST cars dont do it.

I'm afraid these "features" are failing the principle of Natural Selection..... If I'm irresponsible enough to let myself, or my passengers sit in the car without a seatbelt, so be it! If I want to drive around with my door open (be it a drive-by or car skating) let me!

Don't get me wrong, some of these rock (reverse camera, eye-sight etc.) But there's almost a point where it's going too far... I'd much rather of had heated seats or a compass in my rear view mirror than unnecessary noises.

I'm going to try and disable the seatbelt chime this weekend to see if it also fixes the door opened beep.

I also find it pretty dangerous that you can't turn the car off during motion, what if there's an electrical malfunction that a car reboot fixes?!
