Your rooF is pristine, mine is terrible compared to the uniform finish of yours.

Nice effort.

cheers man.. yeah, im pretty happy with it..

not so much the front bar and bonnet..

it honestly looks like the previous owner got a whole bunch of chips and dents.. then rather than fixing them, he clearcoated over them.. fkn wierd..

still, short of giving it the full treatment.. including some wet 'n dry or very strong cutting compound.. i've done about all i can do..

im not really anal about details and it's certainly not a show queen so i dont really mind a few scratches... as long as it looks good from about 2m.. im happy...

Well I just found out that Matt from Kido will be in Perth this week so have booked myself in for Thursday arvo..

Hopefully he can weave his magic to make the auto somewhat less homo.. a bit of extra power and torque won't go astray either...

Can't wait..

Re: Member Profile- Stomps.. Freshly KIDO tuned

Postby Stomps » Thu Oct 25, 2012 7:00 pm

In short... AWESOME..

I've driven for about 2 hours since the tune and loved every second..

Briefly:

I mode is now useable.. it shifts smoothly and has more power and torque than before.. can easily still use it around town..

S mode is like s# was before.. but smoother.. it doesn't hold the gears as long if you aren't booting it and you can barely feel them... there is torque readily available in any gear at the push of the throttle.. if you hoof it it drops to a reasonable gear and pulls..

S# mode is amazing now.. doesn't feel like a DBW setup at all.. the throttle is very controllable.. boost comes on faster, harder better... gearshifts are almost perfect... about as close to perfect as you cam expect in an auto... if you leave it in auto mode 1st to 2nd is smooth as.. can barely feel it... if you shift manually you can actually go into 2nd before it shifts itself so you don't keep going up into 3rd like it used to... its still not instant but it's about as close to it as an auto will get without internal mods..

The most impressive thing for me... funnily enough is the cornering... in S# mode I can throw it into a corner and have predictable power delivery... not have to worry about it bogging down.. it just has power and torque available..

The gear changes are a huge bonus... the better fuel economy is an unexpected byproduct too..

I'm fussy when it comes to tuning.. especially when people promise a lot... I can honestly say Matt's tune has surpassed my expectations... not to mention he is a top bloke and knows his shit thoroughly..

For ANYONE with an auto delivery.. its a must IMO..

I will give you more detail and maybe a video tomorrow.. Im on my phone now do came really type..

Best money I have spent on my car so far...

Dump pipe and TMIC now on the cards for sure..

Not too much you can do about the front end if you drive it regularly. The front takes it for the team so to speak.

Glad you're happy with your tune. Sounds like it's well worth doing!
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

so.. thought i would update this because there will soon be some changes to the car..

I have decided to sell my race car (part out) because i dont get to drive it anywhere near often enough..

however, not being content without at least a semi fast car in my life, i will be throwing some cash at the GT.. when i do this will depend on when my parts sell..

Plans:

Kobe motorsport TMIC- i contacted Jacks earlier in the week, unfortunately there wont be any more stock until early next year.. but im happy to wait..
X-Force MY08+ dump pipe.. mild steel one with no inbuilt cat... ill need to get a 100cel cat and need it somewhat modified to fit the auto, but that's fuck all work anyway..
Kobe motorsport silicone bits.. hopefully help it breathe a little better..

Following a quick retune from Matt, that should give me the power gains im after..

On top of that, ill definitely be getting some rims as well as coilies.. as it's a daily, prob just some BC BR's...

Also, some of you may have noticed the scratches on the bumper in the pics i put up...

the car is going into Dalcos panel and Paint on monday to have the rear bumper fixed and resprayed as well as have the entire car buffed and detailed professionally.. I throw so much work their way through my current job that im getting it done for next to nothing.. might get them to respray the bonnet as well..

Oh, and ill finally get a chance to drive it in anger over the weekend... I have a TECCWA motorkhana on sunday, so will be good to see how it goes.. getting a free alignment at the moment..

The kido tune sounds like exactly what I need. The auto makes me sad sometimes, hopefully it's doable for the earlier GTs too.

Actually, think I was behind you a few weeks ago coming back from work around the shelly/riverton special stages, was loving the exhaust note (mostly quiet until the foot goes down, then niiice).

Sounds like some good mods coming up!

Haha..cheers man..

Yeah, Riverton round-about special stage.. then onto high road..

I remember that actually..

Yeah, the tune is awesome.. I'm finding I'm deriving around just leaving it in S full auto more and more because it's good enough.. then just manually shift it and go S# when I want to play..

Yeah, about to order coilovers then start the power stuff early in the new year...

Can't decide whether to go for over 200kw or not...

I prob shouldn't because it's a daily...

New rims will be coming very soon too..

Also.. I should have some "interesting" footage from tomorrow's motorkhana..

Nice. Kido tune definitely on my list then.

Gonna go the coilovers too but will have to wait till next year as I'm a poor ass at the moment.

What rims you getting? Saw a nice bugeye wrx today with some rota g-forces (I think). Serious engine mods on that car too...
