Not chasing numbers, just trying a new parts combo that sounds about right to me for a daily with good power and the ability to survive a bad batch of fuel.

Although the auto may need beefing, I know a guy who is happy to take this on locally... :)

Id like to see the results of the auto upgrades actually. Who have you spoken to about that?

Apparently the chap who says he can help with the auto is a liar so, the search begins again....

Sorry bud, all packed up in storage for the big install. I will say that I am very happy with the quality of the Killer B gear, noice indeed. :D

Other news, found a local (sort of) machine shop that has done Darton Sleeves on many EJ25's and can also do 14mm ARP head studs :-)
They have put me onto gas filled ring cometic head gaskets, apparently 'the goods' .

Happy times to find some WA locals right on the ball !!!

Intriguing stuff! Obviously the head gasket will work less like a fuse in the event of something going wrong...
But with good tuning & monitoring... :D

After a lot of chatting to people, Subaru head gaskets seem to have less issues...

Carbon wrapped the chrome strip above the rear number plate on the hatch, meh, undecided....

Nice little engine build you have going :).

Any reason your going a small turbo on a engine that will take a trashing?

Hi Taylor,

490hp flow potential is not that small....Besides need quick spool with the auto.....for as long as it lasts, can go always go much bigger turbo if I end up going manual in the future.

2008+ STI hatches have produced 390hp at wheels in usa with this turbo.

Bear in mind you can always swap a turbo easily too

your right not that small :).

I thought you would have gone the 2.5 Dom or a gt30r or maybe even gt35r.

I'm guessing 220KW (if no slipping) at the wheels with 1.5 Xtr but then I need to go manual box if I want to go for more power....just pacing myself :D
EJ257 is getting stripped down at the moment

Aimin for getting it in and running late Jan all machining going to plan.

Cat back exhaust on Monday, cant wait :-)
