Central Locking Controller - 98 Liberty

Postby fishinthecity » Sat Mar 22, 2008 7:58 pm

Hi,

I'm sure this is easy but I'll be buggered if I can find it/work out how to get to it! The factory fitted central locking system in my 98 Liberty (Silver Anniversary Edition) is stuffed, and I want to change it out with an aftermarket controller. I know that the factory controller is somewhere behind the steering wheel behind the console, but I cannot actually find it and it is a very hard area to get to. So, if anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it!

Regards

Chris

Are you sure it's a seperate unit?
These days, it's all incorporated in the the BIU (Body Integrated Unit), which does many things. I'm not sure if it was seperate in 98 though.
Any chance of locating a service manual? :)

Yeah, have been told that it is seperate in that model, I've been told roughly where it is and roughly what it looks like, but that hasn't helped me to actually find it :(
