I heard from Michael from MSR that the stock BOV is only good for around 15 to 16 psi. If you want to run higher boost it will probably leak above 16.

That blows everything I thought I knew about blow off valves out of the water.....

It might have been more accurate to say that the stock BOV may leak around 15 to 16 psi...........

I think it's the newer ones, eg late libs, late wrx's, late foz's....

Maybe the later model libs were given a cheaper, poorer quality bov compared with the earlier ones?

Some clarification. Just spoke to my builder/tuner and he says that it 'could' well be leaking just that the turbo is working harder to maintain the boost. Harder = less efficient i.e hotter so less power. Factory ones do leak past a certain point. The TS BOV looks good at that price so I may consider it. Who knows, may get a few more ponies :-)

my stock BOV started leaking at 17psi. It Didnt make a difference apart from a little extra turbo lag and a few kw lost.

how would you tell on if your bov is on the blink? Is it a dyno proven thing only?
