I wanted to put up some pics of my new sound system.... I have resigned from the fact that there are really no mods I can do to improve the power of my 2.5 N/A wagon (Thanks Hitachi ECU!), so I decided to put a little money into my system.

It's definitely not the most amazing system, but I thought I'd share it to give some ideas to people (esp. those who are thinking of upgrading to a double din unit).

I've kept the speakers in the Alpine family... type r splits in the front and type r's in the rear doors. I actually rate these speakers pretty highly.... they hold a great deal of mid/bass in them and can handle a decent amount of power (110 rms?)

The speaker box is custom made, and I'm running two 12 inch type r's.... It's a bit of overkill, but I'm partial to a bit of dubsteb atm so it's working out nicely haha.
Running two kicker amps... 1 monoblock 750 watts and a 4 channel at 650 rms... powers the type r's very nicely.

The head unit is a Pioneer AVH8450BT...... dvd's, bluetooth, blah blah blah. The fascia kit was ordered online from JVM for about $420 delivered.
Add in the wiring kits, dynomat and a couple of extra bits and it cost just over $2200........

Anyway, hope some of you like it... However... haters gonna hate haha.

Cheers! :D

Mate, where can I find JVM online? Hook me up with the URL please! I'm in need of a fascia kit! I can't deal with CDs and a lack of BT no more!

Hey mate,
My phone autocorrected it to JVM instead of JDM.... my bad lol

Anyway, if Phat couldn't help you out at garage 88, then you can get it from here.

Looks sweet as man. When you put that fascia on, did your car previously come with the climate control zone or was it just the regular ac controls?

Hey dude. My car already had identical AC Controls to this. When I bought the fascia it's actually in two parts, opposed to the stock fascia/6 stacker which is one big unit (HU and AC combined)

Yeah that's going to be my problem. I'm buying a 4gen my04 liberty in 3 weeks and the ac controls in it are just the ones with the knobs. Do you know if there is a way to connect the climate control system up to these or you not sure?

Any recommendations to how I could go buy installing an after market H/U? I haven't seen any of the fascia kits online that suit just the A/C controls, it's all climate control ones. Cheers.

I've seen a fascia kit for the standard non climate control system. However in saying that, it was in the states and all their stuff is on the opposite side. So the angle of the fascia could potentially be wrong.

All honesty, the easiest way to get it done is take it to a professional installer and get them to custom make a new fascia based on the original.

Where are you located so that I can tell you where to go?

If you can be bothered driving to Sydney for the install, then head into FHRX Studios.

Marty will look after you.

Looks awesome! I've heard a system with one Type R sub and that! was insane, can't imagine what 2! would sound like! This is pretty much the set up i want. I'm planning on getting the Type R front splits and Type R rears if not Type S depending on pricing for the rears. I've recently bought a JL Audio 12w3 Subwoofer (500 RMS at 2ohms) which has been powered by an older Fusion Power Plant FE 300d amplifyer (2 x 270 RMS channels at 2ohms) in my previous car. Btw, if these stats are wrong please correct me as I'm no expert in speaker specs and how this ohms jargon works. I'm hoping the amp is good enough to power the sub but if not will buy a new amp for the sub. With the head-unit im also hoping to just have a single DIN simple with the usual BT, aux and so on... Does the gen 5 fascia come in single DIN or will I be forcefully upgraded to a double DIN unit? to power the speakers i'm not really fused about the amp brand as long as it does a good job. Lots og questions i know... and I apologies... but what did you do with the other 7 speakers in the car? also powered them or just left as them where they where incase you sell the car?

I'll re-post this as a new post but thought i'd try get some help here first :)

Thanks in advanced!
