Hey all, V8 owner looking at downsizing

Didn't realise there was a Liberty owners club for Australia, so I was lucky that I was searching for EZ30 in Bing and came across this site.
Anyway, I'm looking at downsizing from my V8 Calais to something smaller and better on fuel and the Liberty has got my attention.
Anyway, i'll save my questions for the relevant sub-forums and just introduce my self here

Location: NSW, Liverpool
Mod: Where do I start haha. My car has the usual LS1 mods done:- MAFless tune, OTRCAI, Full exhaust system (single 3.5"), 3.9 diff gears w/Detroit Trutrac and upgraded brakes.
Plans: Nil, looking at selling
Occupation: Fitter/Industrial plant mechanic
Year of birth: 1986
Previous Rides: 97 VS2 Holden Calais Super6, could take many cars in stop light drags.....but was usless for roll on's 60>km/h. Documented 13 sec car but was too old to keep/maintain.

Keep an eye on the NSW Gatherings forum. You'd be welcome to rocm up to one of their gatherings, which would give you a good chance to see the different models available, and what people are doing to them.

As an ex VS SS with 5spd, Stage 2 crow kit, 3.9 diff I can say I am happy I got onto the lib GT.
Do some handling mods/sticky tyres n enjoy.

HI Mark,

welcome to the forums. I would recommend going for the GT model libs mate, will be a bit cheaper on fuel, but a great base to do mods to and still be a lot of fun. The turbo models are not gutless. You can get these things to move. They perform well in the hills with some handling mods and also respond well to some minor mods and tuning. Great for 0-100 sprints. Depending on what you are after, there is a lib out there for everyone.

Ha ha yes I think we are all a little biased here, even to our own models.
Anyway welcome Mark, go turbo or 6 and mod
The fact that they stick to the road like shit to a shovel means that you will enjoy either of those two
To be brutally honest, I'm not happy with the stock power and hell I still miss the sound of an 8. But so far it has been pretty cheap to mod and when I get on the dyno again soon I am expecting a good gain from approx $1100 of mods.
Around town I get 10-11l/100 and freeway 8-9l/100 2.5T GT Spec. B
