Im really hoping some of you may have knowledge or have had and fixed this problem before...
So i have a 2001(if i remember) Liberty B4, the central locking and alarm works fine, but almost every night when it gets a bit colder than usual the alarm goes off.
it only goes off for a few secconds then stops like the warning siren. And when i unlock the car with the remote/disable the alarm, it makes an extra set of beeps and a long flash of the indicators which according to the book means there was an attempted intrusion when the alarm went off last.
Im certain there was no intrusion or attempted break in, my alarm is just going off and its annoying me and im sure my neighbors dont appreciate waking up in the early hours to my alarm!
I hav checked all the door, bonnet, boot switches, cleaned the bonnet switch as it was a bit rusted, sealed off any wire connections from moisture... Not sure what else could be the problem. Ive tried, with my bonnet open, to lock the car and enable the alarm while holding the bonnet switch down then releasing it, the allarm goes off and when unlocking the car again it makes the extra beeps... So im assuming the cause is something to do with the door/boot/bonnet switches but they are all working, and not sure why it would only happen when the temp drops a bit
Ive replaced my battery as it was old and loosing its charge, and replaced the alarm module as i thought that was faulty, but apparently not!
So for now ive disconnected the siren/speaker under the bonnet to allow my neighbors some rest
Im not keen on paying $150+ just to get it diagnosed by subaru so if anyone on here has had similar problems please get back to me!
Cheers (and sorry for the essay )
Luke
